Ill make this as short as possible, someone claimed my town through tycoon. I know this isn't normally done but, is it possible to either revoke tycoon and give him his 500k back (what he payed for it), or let him chose another town to claim? He has agreed to let me have my town back if i can find someone that can do either of those 2 things. (but even i doubt it) I know its not normally done but can we work something out? I don't have a spare $300 to spend on in game money to get it back from him otherwise. That's kind of a ridiculous amount just to get back to where I was in the server.
Unfortunately, nothing can be done for you to "reclaim" your town. I'm sorry this has happened to you.
See, the thing is, you were gone so long that it's reasonable to think that you were not coming back. My opinion is that town claims are a great way to revitalize areas that have been abandoned. You abandoned your town... for a long time...
I was gone 11 months maximum, just looking at posts, (I know it was shorter). I'm just looking for a staff member (someone who can actually help me) to help me come to a compromise on this. It shouldn't take me $300 to get it back. At the least if i have to buy my town back from him and dump a stack of cash into the server, lower the price or something its insane. I'm preaching to the really high ranks here, if someone can let a staff member or mod who can help know that would help me out a lot. I really wanted to get back onto the server but when I've lost everything I've worked for, it makes me not want to even bother, but I'm trying because i really like this server. There are reasons why i left for (what i consider) a short time. i spent weeks on my town to loose it all in only a short 6 months. feels like I've been robbed.
Given you were gone for 11 months, that means that your town was eligible for claiming. Once you're gone for 6 months, your town can be claimed.
Not to sound rude but, I did my research. Please post something helpful to my situation instead of telling me I'm screwed. Your making this post longer than it needs to be.
I was trying to help. I didn't say you were screwed. You can easily buy a town off of someone for $30k, or get president.
I know you are, but unfortunately either way I still don't get my town back. The time and effort I put into it, its not worth starting over somewhere else. id rather mc edit it back in my own private with friends. But I want to be on here with everyone else. The only way ill put effort into this server again is if my town is back. I know it sounds selfish saying "no my town only" but I think everyone else would either do/think the same.
There is no way to get your town back. I suggest you talk to the current owner to see if they are willing to work out an agreement to sell the town back to you, but it is back to them.
My suggestion would be to contact whoever owns the town now and see if you can come up with some sort of agreement
You can sell donations at ~7ECD/$1USD. So 500k would be approx $75 not $300. Even if you were to get your town back, it wouldn't be backdated. @Silent__Saint I feel bad for your loss, however, if you only think it is worth putting effort into this server again if you get it back, I think you may be better off just locking both of your threads concerning the subject and which you have been given the same advice more than once now because it does sound very selfish that you wish to take back a town that was legally claimed by @blackbelt4eva because of your inactivity. It is unfortunate you are unwilling to put forth a little effort and get yourself a president town and move on with your ECC life, but that is your choice. Wishing you success.
As a previous staff member, this is my thought of it, The staff most likely won't let him revoke his Tycoon rank. They do it for him, then they'll have tons of other tycoons+ wanting to reclaim their town claiming token. So unless a new system is implemented where people can revoke their application (which I don't see happening), you really don't have many options. Not trying to be rude, and say you're "screwed", just telling you how it is.
If you cared so much about this town and the effort you put into it, then I don't understand why you left in the first place. Literally all you had to do was log in once every 5 months, but since you've proven that even that was too much of a hassle for you, then I, as well as every staff member, have zero sympathy for you. Sorry, but you're screwed.
Relax lmao People can put effort into something and still leave it and miss it. Don't be such an [ModEdit]. The staff obviously will have sympathy, who wouldn't feel bad for him? I know people that got deployed into war, and I doubt they were worrying about logging onto E.C.C to make sure their town doesn't get claimed. "All you had to do", it's not that easy for everyone.
Thank you @Jetscat, work is what actually took a lot of my time away from E.C.C. @steveshizzle I was also not aware that someone else could claim towns. Otherwise I would have logged in at least every 5 months like you said. If I were to ever get my town back and something else came up, that's what ill do. Every other game I've played doesn't do this. Example of games I've put a lot of effort into in the past and can still go back to at anytime. Runescape, WoW, anything really. I guess if I read that piece of fine print for the server, I forgot because nothing else does this.
I've seen a lot of talk lately that the system needs a overhaul (mostly from in game chat). Maybe its time to suggest a way to reclaim previously owned towns, or 6 month absence should be changed to 12 months.
