I was wandering the live map and realized that we have a lot of towns. I suggest that all new town creation to be stopped for the time being or unless the town is actively developed it be removed and credited back to the users/mayors/presidents. I believe a lot of users are like me and just spent the money to say that we have the towns and have no real intrest in developing anything on them. Thoughts?
Re: Stop any New Town's I agree there are too many towns, but removing them would cause drama, I think. :/ Stopping could as well, but much, much less. Stopping would also give Andrew a nice break. I still support my past idea, though: Make it so a user cannot create another town unless they have an already developed town and have proven they will spend time on the next town. People do make towns just to have them, like some people bought President just to have it. I'd like if people were "forced" or have proven they will really make a real town with their next town application(s). ..I also dislike when towns are made of only farms, because that isn't really a town. >> That is a personal thing, though. Still, those sit around on the map and don't get used sometimes.
Re: Stop any New Town's i agree moo... also i think we have nerfed the farm town's with the chunk refresh size being 10 fold smaller.
Re: Stop any New Town's So those of us saving up for Mayor to make our own town showed up to late to the party? You want to get rid of ghost towns or ones that have an outline but no development then go for it but telling new to newer players they are not allowed to create a town despite alot of open space being left on the regular map doesn't seem right.
Re: Stop any New Town's We claimed a 3*3 grid, and haven't started building in 7 of them, though we have done all the world-edits. We intend to finish one area before moving onto the next. The reason we claimed so many was to stop others from placing towns nearby and blocking us from getting the 3*3 grid. Antcubing placing his towns near us almost blocked us when we only had two towns. Blocking future towns because they haven't been developed would make it impossible for people trying to build a 600*600 nation. Was wondering why farms aren't growing so well, what's the current chunk refresh size?
Re: Stop any New Town's From the Wiki "In multiplayer mode, a grid with a default radius of 10 (for a total of 21x21 or 441 chunks) is loaded around each player and sent to the player by default, although this radius can be configured to be between 3 and 15" Wonder if they lowered it to 3 and didn't tell us lol.
Re: Stop any New Town's I support this idea. People should spend money on there town rather then saving up for another town. Yes i may not be active, but id say i have put more money into my town then at least a dozen other towns, and im not even on.... I support your idea moo!
Re: Stop any New Town's What about players who are using them for purely mining activities, so their caves/mines aren't founded by x-ray modders, eh? That way we can at least keep our half of the diamonds where it should belong, instead of having them being dug out by those sort of people.
Re: Stop any New Town's I have an idea... Perhaps if a block hasn't been broken/placed in 30 days the town would be shut down? If there is a way to detect that. Of course, the user would get a credit back.
Re: Stop any New Town's Idk about this Ant, for example, Minewars, we only touch it once perweek and even visit it once per week for that matter, I don't think that should mean we gotta place a block every three days, be to much of a hasstle. Though, if some reason we did do this, it'd have to be much longer then 3 days, also, it'd be hard for Andrew to track all that. So to this idea I say no, unless it was a bit longer, and Andrew felt like doin' that every day.
Re: Stop any New Town's Yes, my idea is a pretty good one if we want to implement such a thing but... After scrolling around on the live map for a while, i found there is TONS of space for towns (and no, I'm not counting the ocean. i mean actual landmass) Thus, i don't really see a reason to remove inactive towns... Its not like they are using up space that could be used by another town
