So, I have a lighting issue with my spawn build, and I guess it doesn't qualify as a question that can be asked of staff as part of the competition. I have the build largely done, but I have a lighting glitch on a significant part of the main "floor" near the portals. It looks like this at night: I am not a technical wizard, I'm just a builder, and this has me so frustrated that I'm about ready to delete the build and withdraw from the competition. I have tried most of the solutions that I can find, and none of them work. To clarify: I can easily make this glitch go away by placing and deleting a block and thus (I guess) forcing a block update. But if I relog and come back, it's exactly like this again. Can anyone help?
Hmm, you have steps. I have a feeling if you're able to change that to a full block, then you'd solve your problem. Though I know it may change your aesthetic.
I feel like this should fix it if anything, I recommend just turning the stair blocks around because it looks like it's lighting up the stairs but no where around as a more minecraft scientific way all the energy from the light block is going onto the stair block, trapping that in by putting the solid side to the stair or a solid block should stop it from lighting up the stairs and moving it to up through the glass, otherwise I don't understand what else could be the problem. Hope this helps.
Same spot with the stair blocks turned around: I've read online about there being some confusion caused by Worldedit -- that sometimes when there are blocks above something, and they get removed, there is some sort of glitch. I don't think it's a design flaw, because other areas with the same design have no problems... it's something totally beyond me, really.
