Without the current donation system how would the server owner be able to pay for it? I will admit it can be frustrating when you first join but if you take the time to learn things become easy and much more fun. This server while about the economy is also about the community that has been built around it, if you dont like it you don't have to be a part of it

 

I don't give a flying crap about player count. I am not in it for some stupid amount of players on here. I love the community.

Yes, a lot of people pray on newcomers. But all of us? I'm rather insulted.

Staff take forty five minutes to analyze things because they gather evidence. They talk with other staff. They don't just willy nilly go, "Oh well let's see here... this guy is my friend... unbanned..." No.

Yes, pvp is garbage because of survival games. Most of us have been advocating for change but... no public announcements or contact about it.

 

I would like to point out I haven't spent a dime on the server. I made all my money myself.

Also, I'm not disagreeing with you on some of your points though...

 

The ability to place water, and lava, can be used to grief and troll, and so having those abilities by donating for them, or by having someone donate for you, is a privilege. McMMO is tweaked to meet ECC's needs, and sections of it that would give unfair advantage or break the economy are disabled. This is fair, and everyone is subject to the same limitations.

And so what? In the end all this means that you have to work hard, have to plan what you're going to do, and if you want to spend your time productively, to find or make things in game that you can then sell to others, then you've found a good place to be. If all you want to do is complain about what ECC doesn't have, perhaps our community isn't the right place for you.

 

45 minutes for a staff response is very good, I see some servers take days, and the staff are really good at solving problems, they don't just do whatever they want like what I see on most other servers.

You can purchase farm perms for dirt cheap (like $1000) and then you can farm at that farm. Or just mine to make money.

Factions would not be the "best part of the server." If you want factions, go play on the 1000s of factions server out there. All factions do is make servers extremely Pay-ToWin and then tons of people leave because they get raided by someone who donated $100 for overpowered stuff.

I have searched for other "economy" servers and have found none even close to the size of EcoCityCraft. The economy here is well balanced and much work goes into keeping it that way.

If you don't like the server, then get out. Don't sit on the forums and tell us how much you hate it.

 

When I first started, I ran an extensive irrigation system from a river, all completely underground since it was in the Wild. You don't HAVE to place water to make a farm. Farmed pumpkins for money, wheat for bread / food. I sure didn't STAY there, but it took more than 15 minutes to earn the money to pay for a town plot.

 

When I first joined I really was a n00b on ECC. I didn't know how to get money. So I started out playing Sg at that time (late 2013) there weren't that much kitters as now but I sometimes could win. And I mined a lot. That's how I became successful on ECC. Well...... for me successful.
Please join another server if you don't like this one. I've never donated and I got the money too for resident and mayor so yeah......

 

its outrageous to pay for water though. I understand lava but water? I thought this server had rollback abilities so water grief shouldn't be an issue. lastly, there is no factions

 

I don't like minecraft as a game. Never have. The only reason I have played for so much time is because of this server. EcoCityCraft gives a different experience to other servers. You may like it or you may not, but you would need to play for longer than 24 hours to tell.

There are many people who place water for free.

 

I was builder for two years. Resident was too daunting.

 

I personally was totally finished with minecraft before I finally joined a multiplayer server. The only thing that has kept me playing in general is ECC. Playing and, for me on the staff team, working with so many users on the server is what has kept me on ECC. Its the community that really makes ECC such an amazing place to be apart of.
As @Ctoolme has said, its not the server that makes ECC so great its the community that has built around it. I know I sure as hell would have have stayed if it was one of your stereotypical faction servers.
I honestly am thankful that ECC is exactly how it is, if I had not have stayed I would not only have not been part of this amazing community and gotten to know so many great people. I also would not have met my wife and gotten to where I am now in this great community. I don't regret a day of it.

What You don't understand here @Dr_Metal is that the ECC community runs off of there donations, as @KMaxwell water and lava can be used for grief. Also, many people have donated for the feature water and it is one of the top donations. Also... Mcmmo repair is disabled because of the feature of ExtCommands and ExtCommand+ which are also one of the top donations... Another thing, 45 mins is very, very good timing for staff because they have to analyze the data that they were given to fix the problem. 2500x2500 is plenty big for the mining world... It is reset every month. As SG may be Pay To Win, it is also one of the main sources of the growing the economy. You can also buy perms to a massive farm for fairly cheap and then make all the money back in no time.... I am personally insulted by this thread.... Me and you both @Dr_Dragon_Slayer

 

Its in there and there would have been no chance of us meeting if I had not stayed.
