-1 this just adds another way for people to get scammed, or to loose because of a simple bribe. I do not feel this should be added, if you really want to try your luck there are casinos in the server and we have the in server lotto.
just ask in trade chat there are player run casino's. However this sugestion is just another way for scammers to show what they are able and willing to do. I do feel it is a good suggestion but not for ECC, there are already enough ways to get money on the server, and user run lotto's are just going to ruin the economy in my opinion. Plus this would most likely bring more people with double accounts into the picture and just give the money to the second account and then back to the main account. I feel this will just be abused and later someone will have millions just for dual accounting. So in my opinion, no.
What kind of lottos? Would it be like the lottery plugin? What would prove the legitimacy of the user run lottos? What would stop a player from pre-arranging a winner with another user? How much would the tickets cost? Why would a user pick a user-run lotto where anyone could cheat compared to a plugin, which we know is random? Answer these questions in your post or your suggestion will not even be considered.
People would just have to trust that it would be legit. I had a lottery that was legit and 12 people played and a winner was chosen at random. I put peoples names on signs who played and assigned each a number. To pick a winner I used a random number generator and if it chose your number you win. But the mods shut it down because player run lottos are not allowed
Ok well think about how easy it would've been to cheat and give one guy money. This is why we don't allow user run lottos. Even if some are legit, scams are very possible and when they do, would make users unhappy and their balance a little (or a lot) lower for no reason.
You will need to be a little more specific on what user-run lotteries are. If you are talking about casinos, those are fine and there are many of them on ECC. If you mean something like "pay me 1000 and the third person to pay me gets 2000", then that isn't allowed. This is like this because it is really easy to scam people. Then, more users will become upset when something goes wrong. Thus, we stick with the lottery plugin. It works perfectly and things are consistent. If you want to allow user-run lotteries, an argument stating your reasons on why they should be allowed will be needed. Just trying to help you out.
-1 there would be too much drama over accusation of scamming that would add to the plate of the moderators
