I just returned to the game after being gone for several months and noticed there was some sort of reset, since my personal inventory was empty and also the enderchest was empty. I went to my home and everything was still there, except for my valuables were missing from the main chests. I have a few chests that still have valuables in them, but the main chests that were marked with signs are all full of junk now and the valuables are gone. All of my high end armor is missing as well as weapons. left behind were the lower end enchanted items. Could someone please help me figure out what is going on, as well as what changes have happened in the past few months? thanks!
If you're inactive for 2 week, your inventory and ender chests get cleared. Your chests might've got LWC'd by the town owner, and they took valuables out of them. As for the changes, a lot has happened in the past several months. As it appears you're returning from sometime in a 2013, one major change would be the transfer of ownership from Andrewkm to Physicistsmom, as well as new spawn and plenty of other things. Anyway, welcome back to the server and I hope you get everything sorted out.
Personal inventories and enderchests are wiped after 14 days as a part of our server file clean up policy, see here. As far as items in chests, any items in a chest in a town you officially own (such as your mayor town) should be safe. Items in towns owned by others may be removed after 7 days of inactivity. the items are missing from the town I own. My RSD and coal block chests have been emptied out, all my diamonds, emeralds, gold, iron, nether stars, lapis, ender pearls, and high end armor that were in chests are gone.
@adolia did you have the chests locked? Also, after being gone 6 months a user can use a town claim on the town. Is there a different owner of the town now?
all chests were locked. I have logged in a couple times just for a few min so I wasn't actually absent for the entire 6 months. I know that the locks are still on the furnaces because it gives you a message that they are locked. Also the town protection should prevent anyone but me from opening chests.

Dependent on what town it was in, the locks were most likely removed and cleaned by the removers. Good luck getting back to where you were, and just ask if you need help!
Those are from 2013, though. And not in the town adolia owns. Adolia, are you certain the chests were locked?
I am positive they were locked. plus, wouldn't they be protected by the town protection? this is very strange but I am not going to sweat it anymore, I am just a major hoarder so I will start over. hardest thing is I don't have any diamonds at all...I probably had 3 or 4 stacks! ack!
If you had a use flag enabled, permissions changed so that now it is an interact flag. I believe you must apply for a separate interact flag to be set to 'deny'. Additionally, if you need any help getting your tools back I may have spares I can give you, or will give you some money to get back on your feet.
Which town specifically? If it was a town you bought from another player, it could be reclaimed and your items LWC'd.
