I think this may be just lag, but I think it'd be best to first download a new .jar and try that before assuming anything else.
I had some regular minecraft.jar files that were 1.2.5, and I put them in my bin file, and it updated to 1.3. Ill wait until kukelekuuk00 see's it... he's good at stuff like this
