AHHH YES!!!! MY NOOB DAYS!!!!!!! (please dont necro post) Ok!!! Here is the deal! I had a armor, tools, and blocks in item frames, to mark what was in each chest.. Then out of the blue, POOF!!! All of them vanished!! I know they weren't griefed, only two others have perms in my town. Is this just me, or is this everyone too???? I lost about 5k worth of diamonds form it too... -_-
Sometime the game admins delete all the paintings and minecarts to reduce lag. They also do this with mobs.
Item frames are regarded as entities, meaning they can be destroyed by mods this may be incorrect this is what i have learned from src of mc
I was afraid that the frames would be like paintings and stuff. :/ I loved paintings up until they would disappear from no-one being around... I was looking forward to the frames not doing that, but I didn't have high hopes.
My Item frames diappeared, but when I came back later, they AND what was in it were back on the wall. I have no clue why.
D: This stinks, I have a huge storage center I've been working on, and item frames WERE going to be used to label everything. Is there any way to change the item frames so they aren't deleted with minecarts and paintings? People could lose thousands of dollars worth of stuff weekly, which wouldn't be a good thing. Is there any way around the frames being deleted? Would it be possible to no longer delete minecarts and paintings, or would this just cause lag to build up? It's just kind of annoying having to replace paintings almost daily. If these items are being deleted often, there honestly is no point in using them.
They are coded as entities by Mojang and like paintings and minecarts the server will delete entities every so often (or a game admin can delete them if they use /butcher to reduce lag). Also being coded as an entity meant they can't be lwc'd either so really no one should be using them at all. Yell at Mojang, it is their code. For the time being this is not something that we can fix. RagMan
