I'm bringing up the topic of how ECC only has about 80 or less players on at one time now consistently, and at some points of the night about 30 players on... This is a huge decrease from when I originally started playing and it was 300 players on most of the time with a booming economy. Now I never play and my reason for leaving was for the economy loss. Nobody was ever on, therefore nobody to interact with, very little trading, and the economy was ruled by a small probably 5% of the players. In all, I am very curious on what anyone else thinks of this decline in the past year or so. Thoughts?
That is a good way for people to see your server, but I'm not so sure it is a great way to get people to stay and actually progress. More of just a drive by "See what this is" kind of thing.
ECC has had a decline in numbers, but with the new vote 4, friendly community and strict working rules. We won't go down for quite some Time. I think If we go on a mc server list or something. Our numbers could increase.
Oh yes! The server is dying! ECC is going to be no more in a month! The server's going broke! The ECC economy's crashing! Why not instead of speculating, why not actually look at the facts? We've added many new things in the past year of 2015, such as sports book, vote 4, the stock trader, and we've finally implemented the lobby server - a key piece for the hub. We still have plentiful players, averaging a hundred on at a time, more than most MC servers - plenty to interact with. We've topped the leader boards for vote 4, an achievement of it's own kind. ECC isn't going anywhere. At the end of day, however, we must pay attention to the fact that Player count isn't everything. Sure, we could have 1,000 players on while having a shitty community at the same time. It's community that matters, not player count. So please, don't make fear-mongering titles saying "Is ECC almost over?" or "Is the server dying?". Because it truly isn't, and is nowhere near dying. All you're just doing is pointlessly wasting our time and scaring off players into thinking that this server will somehow be dead in a few years.
When I joined there wasn't many I think only 80 people at the most so far, but hopefully with he new vote 4 our numbers will increase!!!
Yes the server is being liquidated so andrew can pay his debts to the Russians. Enjoy the last few weeks!
Not really sure the point of this question. If you think Ecc is in its demise, and that is affecting you... Then wait for it to hopefully achieve prior player count. When the hub comes out (eventually...) we should see a player raise. And as stated above, vote 4 should help gather new players a bit.
I agree with mostly everything, but it is possible Ecc won't be around in a few years. A few years is a long period of time, who knows how popular minecraft will continue to be. Who knows how many people will find interest in the server. Not saying Ecc will fall anytime soon, but a few year window is a big one.
Yeah, there's always a possibility as a few years is a long time, especially for a minecraft server. However the way we're currently going, ECC is a completely functioning server, and I don't see it dying anytime soon.
I wonder how many players said that almost 5 years ago - or forever in server time Andrew has stated over and over this server is here for the long term. I recommend anyone doubting the health of the server to simply do a quick daily check of the "shop" page to see how much is donated. And don't forget it is rumored that Andrew is in negotiations to purchase Microsoft while we type and so will keep Minecraft forever
Oh I'm well aware. Just stating that nice things don't last forever. Not that Ecc is anywhere close to that point, it's just a way to view it. Very unlikely, but in that time frame...
ECC isn't going anywhere. As well as the new players from vote4 I've also seen the return of some long inactive players. And we have players from all over the world so many of them aren't on at the same time. Our peak time is midday EST where I've recently seen almost 200 players. with the lobby being opened and new servers to come online soon, I believe we will see an even larger increase in player counts.
