Investigators should get access to more information about the block. Where it was mined and smelted; how long ago was it mined/smelted: who mined/smelted it; list of people who have had it; if it was sold in a shop; where it was crafted; where it has been placed before.
This is simply not possible, logblock logs when you break/place a block, store/remove an item from a chest, etc. But it does only that, it can't tag a block and see if it's been placed somewhere else before, or where it was taken from. It simply can't save the data you require.
