So over the last few weeks I have noticed a HUGE increase in builder forum activity. Before it was rare to see a builder post and now it seems they are everywhere. I have noticed some good and bad things about this. Good: - More involvement in ECC (Just being more involved, bidding on the forums; starting companies ect.) - They get help easier (Questions answered on the forums saves them the trouble in game) - Forums are a great resource for everything (From suggestions, to general, the main page forums are great for information about ECC) Bad - Sonewhat annoying sayings/questions (Just overall ignorance can get annoying) - Negative comments (Don't get me wrong, lots of builders are great but I've been noticing quite a few negative posts from builders) - Lectures from builders :/ (When a builder lectures you on something they are clueless about) So what are your opinions?
Well seeing as it helps the server in the long run it doesnt harm us, so I would say good, However I do agree, a lot more questions have come up, but that just gives us the right to teach these users. There is no reason to be annoyed, and I always enjoy to listen to what a builders opinion is even if they have no knowledge on the subject.
i think that there are many positive, and negative things about more builders becomming active on the forums, but you do have to remember, we were all builders once * *well... some of us were "guests"
I see no problem in it, really. The increase in Builders just proves the more users that are coming on the server. As Harry said, we were all Builders once.
I think that more builders are good, because, like Harry the Wizard said, WE were all builders once. *EDIT* I was a builder 5 days ago. And we can all help them. And when they become residents, more builders take their place!
I was gonna say something insipational about new players are good... but pbrassat17, Harryhaz1, and pokemaster08 already beat me to the punch.
There are definently good and bad but, people need to stop putting down builders because there new. If those builders get jobs and earn money they will get resident. But some people won't hire builders therefore, There will be a increase of builders and a decrease of resident. So people if you don't like the increase of builders.... HIRE THEM!!!!
I hired a builder to place dirt and he didn't understand how to and took over 10 seconds per block...
I think is has good and bad things, but in overall its a good thing. we all started as builder and a good part of them will became residents, mayors, presidents...and help the economy to continue growing strong. and, about ignorant comments and posts...its annoying, but its less annoying when they do it while builders, its much more annoying if they make their way to residents and mayors before understand the the server and the economy works...so its a good thing, they are learning from the beggining.
My opinion is: to reduce the amount of complaints and misconceptions caused by builders, which is the number one reason residents+ dislike them, is to add a rule making studying the wiki articles about server features, rules and commands compulsory. Which means that, if you want to play on the server, you must first know what you are dealing with. Running around asking people about this and that is irritating, because it tends to happen so often the chat gets filled with spam-like comments, most made by builders, in channels irrelevant to the main global one. So, a compulsory read-through for the wiki or a compulsory walk-through for the tutorial would do the trick.
One thing I dont like with the builders: THEY DONT GIVE ME FOOD *cries* I'm hungry..Joe Biden help me! (dont forget....Im Barack Obama)
True, however, some people (like me) opt to make their towns Resident+, and with more and more of those towns opening, it's harder to find a plot in a town when you're a Builder. The positive to this is that it keeps Builders from griefing and quitting the server. The negative? See above paragraph.
