I personally use an excellent video and audio recorder known as debut, it causes NO lag while recording. And come's with video and audio editing programs, and can record in MANY formats, however, the main turnoff about this program, is the fact that it costs money, however, I assure you, it is worth it...if you can't buy it.... Dispite the fact that I discourage it... But you will mostlikly find a cracked version if you really need it
I use QuickTime. Yep, you can actually screen record with QuickTime. I know that it probably isn't the best, but I use it for two reasons: 1. It is a pre-installed program on all Macs, plus it's a free download on Windows. 2. Since it's pre-installed on Macs, and it's a program from Apple, it was (basically) made for my computer, so it would be common sense to think it would work well. Also, it's super easy to use. On Mac, you simply open QuickTime, click "File" at the top of the screen in the menu bar, then click "New Screen Recording". A small window will pop up, click the record button, then push the enter key. When you start the recording, a "Stop Recording" button comes up in the menu bar, just click that, and the recording saves automatically. All recordings are saved to the "Movies" folder in Finder. On Windows, the process is similar, you click File in the menu bar, and do all that stuff. I'm just not sure if the "Stop Recording" button comes up or where the videos are saved. By the way, I've done some experimenting, and QuickTime seems to cause little-to-no lag! Because of this, I record every single second of me playing on ECC
