How to update you minecraft and still be able to play on ecc

Okay so the update for 1.3 has come out and everyone is eager to try it out but you don't want to update because you will be unable to play on ECC.

Okay here is a step by step instruction on how to update and still play on ECC.
*This is for windows so sorry macs*

Step 1
Open the windows logo on the hot bar.

Step 2
Click on the search bar with "search programs and files" and type %appdata%. Press enter when roaming shows up.

step 3
Find the folder names ".minecraft". Copy this into your documents or desktop.

step 4
Open your Minecraft and click update. Wait for it to update. You now have 1.3.

step 5
Once you have finished testing out 1.3 in single player go into the "%appdata%" and delete the ".minecraft" and copy and paste the backup version you made earlier into the roaming folder.

step 6
Open Minecraft as normally and select don't update you can not play on ECC.

No one knows when ECC will update to 1.3 so don't bother asking. This is a guide, it is not my responsibility if it doesn't work I have tested it out myself.
