All users must read before personalizing your minecraft![/goto] [anchor]S[/anchor]How to edit your splashes! You know that bright yellow text that appears on screen? Well, that text is one of the easiest things to edit in minecraft. Just follow the steps below! Spoiler [goto=W]WARNING! Before attempting, please read the warning at the bottom of the page.[/goto] Step #1: Open your .minecraft folder To open your .minecraft folder, just search the words "%appdata% without quotations. After that, click roaming -> .minecraft Step #2: Open up your minecraft.jar with winrar or 7zip To open up your minecraft.jar, click bin, then right-click minecraft.jar, go to open with "winrar archiver" or "7zip" Step #3: Open up your splashes.txt To open up your splashes.txt file, click the title folder, then click "splashes.txt" You should come up with the file in notepad (notepad++ for me, and I highly recommend you use it as well ) Wow! There's 226 possibility's for that yellow text O.O! Now, you can either A: delete it all (CTRL+A -> Backspace) or B: Delete a few Final Step: Write your splashes Now, just add in your splashes into the file. Just write them, save it, close everything, then start up minecraft. Ta-da! the yellow text is now what you wrote =D. As you can see, I have written "O RLY?" Tip: if your using winrar archiver (I dont know if 7zip does it) but once you save your splashes, it may say "Some of the files in the archive have been modified, would you like to update the archive?" or something like that. Click yes. [anchor]B[/anchor]How to edit your main menu background Coming soon! Stay tuned! [anchor]W[/anchor]Warning! All users must read! Before modifying your minecraft in ANY way, you should ALWAYS have minecraft closed AND backup your minecraft.jar and .minecraft folder. I am NOT responsible to any damages made to your .minecraft or minecraft.jar
7zip does not display such a message. As a matter of fact you have to save it outside of minecraft.jar and copy it back into it because 7zip creates a temp archive that ends up keeping the changes rather than the actual file in the jar o-o
I know that, but thats why its titled "Personolizing your Minecraft" Because it makes your minecraft different then someone elses :] Just because theres no point, doesnt mean its not fun and you cant do it
Michael, you should look into the personalizing the overhead moving view you get once you get into the game (main menu). People can make that Nether, Aether - Anything they want in Minecraft. Then you really get "personal." :b (It is possible. I'm not suggesting you figure out it/see if it's possible. I know it is. xD)
