Hey all! As you see here it's my brand new mac, I've never had one before! I needed it for programming and I hate using emulators so I bought one! Thing is... I don't know anything about them.. I don't care about how it runs games, as you see I have that taken care of by my alienware. Give me some points to help me out :3 Thanks for the help!! Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Gratz on your new mac! Well, I have a 13" 2012-2013 macbook pro and it runs minecraft great! I always hear people saying "Macs aren't meant for gaming", but they actually handle hem pretty well! If you need any help, start a convo with me because although I say mine handles MC well, MC is one of 3 games I can have downloaded on it. I get 35-50 fps which is ok but occasionally (rarely) will get some lag. I am not an expert on macs, but I have some experience! Just pm me if you have a question and I might (don't count on it) be able to help I hope this helps!
Just saying, my $1000 laptop plays mc at 200 FPS, 35-50FPS is actually really bad for a laptop of that price, that's how much my previous $300 laptop had. Anyway, Macs are really easy to use, just search around a little, I recommend learning some keystrokes/shortcut. A lot of them are listed here. Aside from that, just navigate around your mac a little. Assuming you are already fairly tech savvy, this should be plenty, because macs are made to be easy to use.
Yeah 35-50 fps is pretty bad I didn't spend $1000 to play MC on a mac though, I just got it for school and that is where you get what you pay for
Do any of you experience the keyboard not working while playing MC on a Mac? If so what was your fix for it if any?
If you plan on non-java programming, you probably should've stuck with a windows machine, but if you specifically want to make things for MAC OS (heh, sounds kinda like tacos :3) that only work for MAC, you've made the right choice Also, I've heard MAC is known for its ease of use (and not as many viruses), but there should be nice support on their website/forums. I don't really like MAC cause I'm so used to windows, but I've heard it's really great from people who only use MAC.
@liamfrench, I have a 21.5 inch iMac for coding, because that is a kinda-hobby of mine. It's really easy to use, confusing in a few parts, but awesome. PM me in-game or on the forums if you need any help/advice :b
I want to ask again since I didn't get any responses: Does anyone have a problem with the keyboard not working when playing MC on a MacBook Pro? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No I'm talking about when the keyboard locks up completely where I can't use it at all. It's not lag.
