I know that there are numerous wild portals but being the total newbie that I am I cannot seem to find any of them. Could someone give me step by step instructions (preferably with pictures) on how to get there. Nothing in the wiki seems to be of much help and I can't get started until I find the portals.

Just go to /spawn, Follow the yellow wool to the board, and use one of those signs. You should be in the wilderness via those signs, or join someones town (which is better)

The mining world regens after a month or so, so it is not the best place to make a home. My suggestion is going to the town portal room, any town will do, and run until you are no longer in the town. You're things would be safe because it would be the main world wild, which is never reset. If you need anymore help, asking me or anyone in-game, will help you as they will actually be there to help.

Hello scoogdog, first off I would like to say I'm glad that you have used the forums to get help. Its always good to get new builders on the forums. Now for your delima I would recommend voting at ecocitycraft.com/vote to get nether stars which you can sell to the server or player to get money then you should have enough money for a plot in a town. Most mayors offer 10x10 plots for $1000. Second thing you could do is go to a bottom level portal (as these are new towns mostly) then walk to the edge of the town and use the /region info command to see if you are in a protected region or not. If you are not the message you will get in your chat will be no defined region at point. Hope this helped- schloty21

Sorry to bug you, but I voted on all of them. How do I see how many nether stars I have? Is there a command for that? How much do they sell for? schloty21

Nether stars are an item in minecraft, they should have been placed in your inventory. I forgot how much they sell for exactly, you can use "/worth nstar" to find out.

When you vote for the server, you must be logged into the server on your account to recieve the netherstars.

To store your valuables, use locked chests in the main world. These can be outside of a town (in the wild) or you can buy a plot in a town and put them there. Just watch out for mayors who evict their tenants
