Ive been playing for a few days now and I absolutely love this server. However, I cant seem to figure out how to gain exp. Ive been mining and farming (a lot...), but when I tried to sell just 10 exp it told me I didnt have any. If you cant get it through that, how do you get it?
Well you can't sell exp to the server directly the way you do with ores and plants. You have to go to market stations where players buy exp at their prices. The prices aren't always set so you'll have to do some searching for the best deal.

Is it something you have to be Resident to do?
You can get XP from ores and plants in the Mining World. Rising/Legacy won't give any xp orbs. Use the command /xp to see your experience you have and check that against signs in the player market. You probably were mining in Rising/Legacy. Any rank, including Builders, may buy/sell at the player market or any player trade sign for that matter. As long as you have the necessary items to trade that is.
