1.3.1 is the worst update. I was on sp, and I was mining, I jumped out of this water, and I took about 4 hearts of damage, and no one was around, nor any mobs. What the heck.

 

I think it's drowning damage you're taking, you lose health a lot faster in 1.3.1 than 1.2.5.
