Has anyone had any luck with the CRAFT command in macromod? It would be very handy, unfortunately I couldn't make it work :/
@ScarabCoder @314 @travellord @_TANSTAAFL @3point14mp @emongolab you might be interested/know the solution
The fact is that with the placesign command you can at least set the showguy flag to true and then wait a second and click done, while for the craft command I can't find an equivalent flag
It's something that blocks all instantaneous non-vanilla inventory movements. Meaning it blocks stuff like instant chest stealers, and also stuff like macromod's craft, which, imo, is an exploit and should definitely be blocked. Instantaneous crafting is pretty much cheating.
With macromod: instant crafting without macromod: slower manual crafting Looks like an unfair advantage to me. That's why it should stay blocked.
Ontop of that, with it unblocked, chest stealers work flawlessly, as well as several more unfair advantages. Not going to be unlocked.
It allows people to sell excessive amounts of crafted goods without taking their time. If I'm working on a giant build and need, say, 250,000 stone bricks, someone with CRAFT can do that far easier than someone else. Time is money, and this would provide the user with an extreme advantage over other users.
If time is the main objection to the craft command, then... what if it took some time even with automatic craft? Macromod has a craftandwait command as well, which makes me think that auto craft could be made to require some time on the server side
because it works by instantaneously moving a lot of items around. faster than a human can possibly act. Both cheststealers and CRAFT do that.
I made a kind of tool to automate crafting, which doesn't make use of the craft command. It's not instantaneous, it takes more or less the same time it would take doing it by hand, and it still needs you to fill up your inventory slots accordingly. It cannot possibly be tweaked to be faster than that, because if it moved and clicked too fast it would incur in lag malfunctions. Also, it can be used to craft only what it has been programmed to craft: if you want to make it craft something else, you first have to program it. So, you see, it's just a way to avoid wearing out the mouse buttons by clicking over and over again. It doesn't give you any unfair advantage, therefore I'm 99% confident it's legit. But just to be 100% sure: is it allowed? I won't make use of this if it's not. But if it is, I might consider releasing/selling it. Here is a proof of concept video showing automatic crafting of stone bricks and dispensers. I don't know why, in the video it appears to be slightly faster than how it really is, maybe due to sync problems with the tool I used to record the video. Sorry for the laggy video.
