A friend and I were in the market and found a guy buying emerald blocks for $1000. As soon as my friend clicked it, it dropped to $1 and he was only pain $1. He wasted $320 on emeralds to get that deal. The guy buying the emerald blocks was "Harryhaz1" and he is just a major rip off

However, if you did this transaction with trade signs, then there is not much we can do as it is the users' responsibility before using trade signs.
