Minecraft Username: 314 Brief Description: People are able to see andesite with 1.8 clients although they shouldn't. (Client-side only9 Instructions: Log in with 1.8 client; go to the coords from the screenshot below (Legacy). 1.7 clients see normal stone. 1.8 andesite can be found there, once mined (Silk pick) it returns to stone 1:0. How many times did you recreate this bug?: 1, but appaently this can be reproduced incredibly easy. Result: Client-side andesite. Expected Result: Not seeing any 1.8 blocks in a 1.7 world. Evidence: Other: @Raikou101 made me notice it because of his profile posts. At first I suspected a bugged meta-id of the stone since Andesite is Stone with the meta-ID 5 (Stone 1:5), but it appears to be simple 1:0 stone... Could this be caused by the protocol hack?
Still. Why does it think this at all? I thought a bugged meta-id of 5 could have caused that, but that doesn't seem to be the case...
Your client generates the world client side too. So, it'll generate the ores according to what the server sends it, in this case, 1.8 ores.
