Yes. I felt quite content today cleaning ECC from improper grammar, it would be wonderful to have this

Maybe not ban or even kick players, but some kind of system established to help out. It would be wonderful.

 

Establishing a proper grammar agency on ECC is all we need. Ant and Bailey for Grammar Mods!

No, just no.
You would punish people for not using proper grammar, that's like punishing people for not being english.
A large majority of the people on this server don't have English as their native language, these people often lack proper grammar.
A large majority of the people on this server are also kids.
Combine those two and 95% of all the people on this server will have faulty grammar, that would mean you would have to punish 95% of the people.

I am going to have to say that this is the most stupid suggestion I have seen so far.

PS. the image has a lot of spelling mistakes, not grammar. :B
PSS. I hope you have noticed that I make grammar mistakes too, you would have to 'punish' me too.

 

Sorry but this is one of the worst suggestions i have ever seen........
I cant believe you actually pay attention to grammar on ECC chat and think its a big deal.
But I guess it's good to see other people's view's

 

I'd also like to point out the fact that kicking/banning people for "Improper grammar", as you put it, would make us a relatively infamous server. Who, i ask you, would want to join a server when you can get kicked for one dangling participle?

 

This is a bad idea for so many reasons.

Everyone makes grammar mistakes all the time. Have you guys read some of my posts? Sure, from a glance it looks as if I use mostly perfect grammar... Then you read it, and you will see that I forget or put extra commas or say something in the wrong order and almost give it an entirely new meaning. Should I be punished for not proofreading every single thing I say? It's a chat... there is no such thing as a chat room where everyone uses perfect grammar, and for a good reason.

The chat wasn't meant to be pretty, it was meant to be convenient for chatting and talking to other people without being forced to install a voice/chat program. As much as I hate seeing not a single person in chat using proper grammar, I know better than to have someone, especially someone with an official rank for it on the server, correcting every little mistake.

On top of that, with the server having a caps filter, it would sometimes even be impossible to use "correct grammar." Seeing as you guys see improper spelling as grammar, I'm sure you see caps as a part of grammar too.

Even more so... Have any of you guys seen Kuke's staff app that got him on staff the first time? (He has posted it in several places.) It contained little grammar, little capital letters (if any), and hardly any words... Does that make him somebody who should be punished? No. He is a SuperMod for a reason, he doesn't need perfect grammar to get around on the server.

I am just going to go ahead and say... this is the internet people. Honestly, nothing is grammatically correct. We are not going to add a third group of mods (already a bad idea) to kick and ban people for not knowing (or more likely not caring to take the time to capitalize a letter or type an apostrophe) proper english.

this will not help people want to join and stay on the server. it will just annoy people into rage quiting because they are getting continuosly kicked and banned for typing 'dont' instead of don't or for ignoring proper sentence syntax.

I don't like it when people don't use correct grammar, but I don't say anything. As long as I can understand them, everything is good! If you can't even tell what someone is saying, we have a problem there, but other than that, I think everything is OK how it is now

 

ban for bad grammar? that's a bit to much.
