Greetings, I have scoured the forums and haven't found a single thread. OK I'll do it. I don't want to assume anything and would love to be "officially" told, one way or the other. I have been given a lot of "I heard" in the past day or so. Are the prices for these 2 items going to stay where they are for the foreseeable future, or are they going to fall in line with their recipe cost? I made a couple glistering melons for some health potions, for a friend for pvp, went to sell some of the extra melon slices when I was done, and when I checked the price, I saw it didn't change from the normal slices. A bug, or intentional? I think the recipe changed for the slices and apples, and I went to check golden apples too (gosh apples are expensive to make). After making it, I noticed the same thing. No price change. Either way, I don't mind because I don't know of too many uses for either one of these things, but I was just curious when I came across it. Thanks for any "official" info someone could provide. Adieu
the apples cost 9 times more gold for the tiny ones now, though they give a new buff: Saturation. So now they give you hunger regen. hooray. Their prices IMO shoul go up respectively, though i am in the dark. What happenrd to glistering melons? i never use them so i don't know the new recipe...
Andrew's not going to put in 100k's of money into the economy like that. He knows people have double chests (or more) of golden apples and glistering melons and isn't going to do that.
Gilstering Melons are the main ingredient in Health 2 potions. To make one used to take 1 melon slice and 1 gold nugget. Now it takes 1 melon slice and 8 gold nuggets.
Have glistering melons and golden apples always been worth $0.05? I didn't realize that. I thought the gmelons were $1.25 or something like that, which made sense given their recipe. I haven't checked hay, but is that also only worth $0.05? Do any mods/admins or anyone who has actually heard anything directly from andrewkm want to chime in, or are we all just guessing? I guess I'm just ignorant of economic things like this. No big deal, just wondering if I should put in a bug report or something.
I don't think they always were, I'm pretty sure he lowered them when he put on 1.6.1. I HIGHLY doubt this is a bug, this is an economy server and he knows how to handle his economy correctly to avoid it going crazy. I don't think anyone heard from him directly, it's just implied.
I talked to Zard about it the first day ECC went to 1.6 and he said that because so many people invested in them prior to the update, that its unlikely that Andrew will raise the prices. Now if you'll excuse me, I have 20,000 health 2 potions to make.
