So I recently earned quite a deal of money IRL and to raise funds to buy pres, I've decided to sell some giftcards. However, I've been noticing an awful lot of donation scamming complaints recently and I don't want to end up on the other end of one. It's come to me that I don't know exactly how donating for someone else really works so if someone could explain it to me or give me a link to somewhere where it's explained, that would be wonderful. Thanks!
steveshizzle lol I was honestly about to post something like this, I'm afraid if I buy one for someone I'll get banned because I might mess up and not be able to buy a new one.
Ok, I've never donated for anyone else before so don't quote me on this, but the way it works is that when you donate, you have to enter in your in-game name. Now, regularly it would just be you enter in your own name to buy yourself a donation feature, but when you're buying for someone else you have to put in their username. Pretty simple. For the whole deal of donation scamming, the only thing you have to worry about is that you have the right billing info and you save your receipt. People are able to scam the donation system by using PayPal when there's actually no money in their Paypal account. So long as you are using a valid credit card you'll be fine. When you donate be sure to save the receipt your given at the end of the transaction, this is so if something goes wrong you can validate you actually bought the feature and get some sort of refund. That's really all you need to know, hope I helped some! Btw, I'm looking to buy donor features, so shoot me a PM if you're looking for someone to buy
Greetings, I also just want to add that andrewkm and the staff are VERY accommodating. They will try to get your side of things before banning you. So if it is a simple mistake, they will allow you to work it out. As long as you have the card number/acct number, transaction number, and/or receipt you should be fine. Don't be afraid to buy donations. I have had a few 'mix-ups' with some buyers, and been 'scammed' a few times, as I have always bought my donations via ECC dollars. And it is easy to determine if you are being scammed or not. The 'non-scammers' will respond and work with you and provide proof, etc. The scammers will dodge you and just provide excuses. I even had one donation that was "lost" for almost a week, but we worked it out. If you are legitimate, you will be ok. Congrats and Good Luck.
