Minecraft Name: Phoenixproject15. Suggestion: Add a VIP (Very important Poster) or MVP (Most Valuable Poster). These would be forum exclusive. Reason: Honestly, I feel like this feature would be a neat addition, not as much as of a needed feature. I feel like a lot of active forum members go unnoticed, whether they're helping someone, making guides, or simply being active on the forums. A majority of the time these things are being done by Moderators, but not always, I see many users that're more active then the majority of the Moderators on the forums. Not saying they're not doing their job. I feel like adding this would bring a lot more attention to the forums, I would become more active, helping people, posting guides, hanging out, etc. Going for that VIP status! The rank or titles 'job', would be to post constructive posts on the forums. To get this rank, the user would have to keep posting constructively, answering questions about the game, and encouraging discussion throughout the forums. To get the rank, he/she would either have it assigned by Andrew/Wewin, or he/she applies through the appropriate section on the forums. Let me get this straight, I don't deserve this rank, but there's many others that do, people such as; Welikeike, MooFink, Ex-mods, Jetscat, Active forum members, etc. Who's posts sometimes goes unnoticed. Any Other Information: The rank would apply a color (Sort of like the forum donation), Maybe something like Green, and their name color would match with a their text. So for example, if someone was a V.I.P/MVP, and they posted, both their forum name, and the post would match, in this example, it would be green. To signify MVP/VIP post. Link To This Plugin: N/A. Post your thoughts, inquiries, etc. Below.
I like it! I like it! I see many people that never use the forums and find all their news from the server. This could definitely be used to encourage people to use the fourms and post there. I could name a good amount of people that post a lot. But let me get totally clear, this would only apply to players (not staff) who post a lot and are helpful?
I assume, yes, it would apply for players, and not Staff. There would be interference with their ranks.
Who's ranks? Staff or regular people? And either way, it wouldn't. It would be on forums only. And for example below you name you have the word "Tycoon". If you were promoted to MVP, you'd have "Tycoon/MVP" under your name. Btw, that a picture of you irl?
I spoke with Phoenix as he made this suggestion on skype, and honestly, I don't think staff should be granted this rank. The point of it is supposed to be a "Staff's second hand" or active forum user. Yes, their name would be like this.. <Forum avatar here> Jetscat <- Sparkle green. MVP/Tycoon And yes, that's a picture of me irl.
Woah, I've been looking up to that guy since I joined? I keep forgetting the awesome staff are teenagers
We currently have a "Highest-Posting Members" list to the right of our members list. As for it being based off of ranks, I think you can do this with the forum. There is also this forum mod.
The point of this topic wasn't dedicated to large posts amounts. It's for those who post constructed, helpful posts around the forums. It isn't supposed to be a competition, it's supposed to bring activity, and informative posts throughout the forums.
-1 i think it is a terrible idea for the forums. It will completely ruin the fun of it, as there will be lots of chairs. I completely agree! +1
What Ryan said was a different subject then this suggestion. If this was to be implanted, you are still able to receive the rank, no matter your post count. If it was 1,000, sure, it would show activity, but is that person making constructive, helpful posts? That's where the deciding factor in this rank is. Vice versa, if the person has a low post count, however they make constructive posts, they may also be considered. This suggestion really has nothing to do with your post count - Anyone can get a high post count by making rubbish posts.
The idea is good, but how would you be awarded it? Applying for it? It doesn't sound like it would be an automatic thing.
As he states in the suggestion, he/she would either have it assigned by Andrew/Wewin, or he/she applies through the appropriate section on the forums. It all depends on how andrew would want the feature implanted.
This would be very good because (not like ryan was saying) who looks at the top posters?! this would be right here right now. +1
