fortune axes not working

    So i recently bought a fortune III axe, I've been using it on pumpkins and it didn't gave me ANY double drop at ALL.
    So I'm wondering if this is a bug or something

    Correct me if im wrong, but i believe fortune only works on melons and nether warts.

    I don't think it's supposed to give double drops on pumpkins. I could be wrong though.

    It is meant to give more items on melons and warts - but shouldnt it work on wood as well? I mean the axe's job is clearing trees away. But it dont increase the results.

    it only works when the block drops an item, blockdrops don't work.
