Just an suggestion, I don't know if it would take to much time but it seems horrible in the wild, where everything is griefed, so if there would be like an respawn of the wold every month it would be epic for the economy too, cus new minerals

This thread is similar to Zeno's... However, it isn't really possible to just regenerate any select parts or the whole world. At all. Would cause way too many problems. That's why we wait so long between new maps, and also why we wait for giant updates that give us good reason to restart.
Resetting the map every month would be tons of work... All those towns need moved over. All those people that need to transfer those items. The periods the map gets drawn are laggy. Live map also needs drawn with it. People complaining about losing houses in the wild they just built. Andrew has to do all those applications... He's got better things to be doing. Every month... That's too much. Maybe 6 months...but not 1 month.
But can't you simply regenerate chunks in a predetermined area? Like a puzzle with the towns as the pieces?
Well, you could I guess...I think it's possible anyway o.o. But that's even worse. Not as bad to players, but a huge amount of work for Andrew, and could cause even more problems to a world, regenerating chunks over and over could cause chunk errors I would assume. o.o I know for a fact thought, that regenerating chunks is harder than getting a new world.
Hmm... I wonder, could there be a plugin that wipes the world except for something between a block? Like replace the obsidian posts with something like Sponge, something impossible. I'll go check out compatible ones with Bukkit.
