Fix the Lotto

I agree with deep. We should have a limit. My bro won the lotto once by luck but the rest of the day all the rich people kept on sniping with 100-500 tickets. It is unfair for builders+ who don't have much money and can only afford 1 ticket. Deeps idea is a good one and i like it and support it.

 

I agree, the lotto IS an excuse for the rich to get richer, Anyone with simple math skills can figure it out, Lets say twenty people buy one or two tickets ( This is normally the case since Most of us cant afford more without seriously hampering our efforts, or costing us several hours of work) that means roughly everyone has a five or so percent chance to win, in the last two seconds 99% of the time at LEAST one person snipes and buys 50-100 tickets, so suddenly that five% drops to roughly 1%, if two buy 50-100 thats sub 0.5%, three+ (Such as the case when the server is 100% full) and we're talking 0.25% chance for anyone that decides to toss their money in, while those three people have a grand old 30% chance each to win. Not. Fair. And its unbalanced.

So.. 95+% chance someone rich wins, 5% chance someone poor wins

Ive seen Hoking (Not even sure how to spell his name) snipe every single lottery that hes been online for since i joined, he lost twice, both of which were to people that bought just as many or more tickets than he did and he lost about 100k, whereas he won at least 500k, and im pretty sure it was closer to a million

 

Lottery was specifically added for the rich people and is highly discouraged for Builders (and even Residents) unless they want to risk it or are already rich and want to learn how to play it and win.

People have made several suggestions for the lottery to be "more fair," but they have never gone through and never will. It's a rich person's game and any changes every made to it have always been to make it more of a rich person's game or to get rid of money from the economy (i.e., tax).

 

On the off chance a rich person loses however, it will take a major hit on their balance - in fact, you're not doing the math entirely correct. With all the math put together, chances are actually against them. With the tax, no matter how much the odds are they win, they will eventually have their balance slowly drained. In fact, if you were to go into every lottery, you will hurt your balance, no matter what. It's a fact - quit while you're ahead, and if you don't, you will lose money.

Nothing can or will be fixed about it. It was meant for the rich, and always will be meant for them. In fact, lowering the ticket limit is the last thing that will happen to it - we used to have a 50 ticket limit, it was raised for a reason.

 

what about a secondary, smaller lotto that is limited by tickets per person?

if you really want to have money disposals, put in an instant lotto, similar to a scratch-off or slot machine...

 

A secondary lottery has been suggested before as well, several times. It as well can't/won't happen. Chances something will change in lottery are extremely low.

Do not go into lottery if you dont want to lose money. If you want a chance to win do not buy one ticket, Snipe like the rest of us. Also, there are other way to get rich besides the lottery. You just need to find ways to make money thats fun so it doesnt seem like work.

Also it is realistic that the more tickets you have in there the more chance to win. Just expect somebody to snipe. Dont put tickets in when the big lottery players are online. Another thing:
WE STILL LOSE SOME OF THE LOTTERIES.

I help put 4 million dollars into the play economy. I was also broke spending items on other players. Not lottery. Have you seen unknownrider win a million dollars with one ticket? see stuff like that happens its not impossible. In Fact i have lost over 2.4 million from 1-20 ticketters. So dont think we are all that great.

The lottery was designed to be a big time gambling game. Where the rich go to dump all thier money. Some of the rich players do fun and awesome stuff. others keep it in thier own hands to keep inflation from happening. There is no harm to losing to lottery.

When xxemuxx ruled the lottery, he kept over 8 million ecodollars from the player economy. Now see what has happened. Server store prices went up. Application prices has went up. exp has went up. Those who hoard thier money isnt as bad as it seems.

Now, let me talk about the lottery tax. A player cannot go more then 20 times the amount of tickets in the current lottery or else they would lose money. So, there is always that one in 20 chance that the player may lose. In fact, those odds have screwed so many rich players off it is more affective then what many think.

so this doesnt stop sniping?
Well it helps. That limitss how many tickets we can put in.
SOMEBODY HAS TO BE CHOSEN AS THE WINNER OF A LOTTERY EVEN IF ITS ONE TICKET OR 1000.
