[FAQ] Staff Applications

Lately, I have been seeing a lot of questions come up about staff applications. A lot of good questions come up, but there is not a specific place to ask them. I will post the most generic questions that come to my mind and you can post your questions below. I will also include some misconceptions about applying. Don't be afraid to ask.

Staff Applications FAQ and Misconceptions​

• What is the age requirement in order to apply for staff?
  • There is currently not a set requirement to apply for staff. All applicants are looked at the same, and your age does not change anything.

• Do you have to be a donator to apply for staff?
  • We do not require you to be a donator to apply for staff. While it shows that you support the server, it does not put you below other applicants. We are looking for mature members of the community that are looking to help others.

• Do you read all of the applications?
  • Yes. The EcoCityCraft staff team reads all applications for staff. No, we will not forget yours! It takes a lot of time, but it is worth it in the end.

• When will staff get picked?
  • We get asked this all the time, and we honestly have no idea! As most of you know, Andrewkm never gives out ETA's.

• Will +1's help on my staff application?
  • While it might make you feel good that people like your application, our opinions do not change based off of how many ratings your application has.

• How many staff will get picked?
  • We have no exact number, but we pick as many as we need.

• Will there be a second round?
  • Most people are aware that there can be more than one round of staff picks. A second round will usually be announced by Andrewkm or WeWinAgain. Though, there may not be a second round each staff picks.

• Will comments help me get chosen?
  • Contrary to popular belief, comments on a staff application do not have an effect whether or not you will be chosen. While everyone likes to hear good things being said about them, they will not help you get picked. I personally don't mind them, and only read them for the purpose of moderating.

• Do I need to act any different now that I have applied?
  • No, you do not need to sit at spawn. While we do not mind it, make sure you are helping and not mini-modding! It will not have an effect on whether or not you are chosen. We are watching you before staff applications are even open! Just have fun, enjoy ECC, and play like normal.

• Do I need to be popular?
  • Nope, not at all! Your amount of friends has no effect on our decisions.

• I have been moderator on another server, can I put the URL of that server or is it considered advertising?
  • It is fine to put the URL of the server's website to prove that you once moderated for that server. Please post it on your staff application only.
