So, how's it going ECC? I've recently had the most entertaining thing happen to me today, all DMCA's listed on me, are now wiped completely due to Apple now banning the user who did this from Developing. Now, I thought I would put together a Q&A and FAQ about this, and all the apps together. Q: When is the _____ EcoCityCraft Voter App Coming!!!!!111!!one!! A: Now, here's going to be the annoying part for you guys, currently, there are 2 perfectly functioning voting apps, which only need minor editing, but that will change. more on this later. To bluntly answer the question, whenever I'm going to be finished redoing ALL three apps. I'm not going to be releasing each on individually anymore, I'm instead going to release all three at once, updating them all at the same time. Q: What happened before? A: Okay, so this is quite complex, so here's a spoiler to my previous post about it: Spoiler: Massive Post Ahead The previous author of the voter app, decided to become a big pain for me to update/re create the app, for anyone who knows what it is, he has filed 8 DMCA's on me. (Google Digital Millennium Copyright Act.) Apple has followed through on them, and prevented me from publishing my app. He has put a DMCA on the following: ECC Voter, ECC Mobile Voter, EcoCityCraft Voter, EcoCityCraft Mobile Voter, EcoCityCraft Mobile Voting App, ECC Voting App, ECC Mobile Voting App, and EcoCityCraft. I've submitted the app to Apple for multiple revisions, using multiple different frameworks. I have changed the name, 4 times, repeatedly updating it to something longer, shorter, or completely unrelated. (See Above) I have called Apple, numerous times, and repeatedly shown them the evidence of what he has done, as well as the proof I own the EcoCityCraft Voter on the other two platforms. They have already accepted the DMCA, and therefore cannot change it. They have however, completely banned the previous creator from filing anymore towards my account, so I have the following choices: Appeal the DMCA in a court (This is extremely expensive, as I would be in fact fighting Apple. Lawyers are not cheap) Wait until the DMCA expires. (One year) Honeslty, I really would like to post the app, but I am given a wall every. single. time. It's wasted too much of my time right now. I took time away from my work to make them before, and I really do not have time to jump through all the hoops. I may be able to find a way around it, but for now, there are no promises. TL;DR: Previous Author is a pain in the ass, prevented apple from publishing the app, numerous times. I do not have the time to jump through the hoops again. Q: What does this mean for the current "ECC Voter" on the IOS Store? A: This is undecided, I've yet to hear back from the current developer, and I'll be talking with them about what will happen. The app is now removed. I will be putting up the official EcoCityCraft Voter on the IOS store soon. Q: ETA? :O A: Soon The voter app will be redone in Unity, my current favourite game engine, as it's what I am working on my Wii U game. I will say, that as I do have a deadline for my professional life, and this is mostly a personal project, this will be a decently long time before it's fully ready. Currently on my "Yes or no list" is to open source it on my github account. I've not yet decided whether this is a good idea or not, as I do want to keep intellectual property for this. wow yay for the iOS platform users! Jamie if you don't mind I kinda wanna get into coding things like this do you have any advice/help you could give for someone like me? I kinda wanna be able to design plug-ins like KH, and things like this. <3
Congratulations for not having to worry about those DCMA's anymore! Won't be able to use the apps though, first I'd have to buy a mobile phone with internet access.
I'd suggest getting your math skills up to quite high levels, as that will help you a ton. For america, i'm not sure what the g12 equivelent is, but do as many of them as you can.
