Here's how I obtained the exp for the medal. Several weeks ago I had mined until I had earned about 275k exp. The market price was cheap and I was getting impatient so I bought enough exp to get me to 500k.

I felt guilty because it was always my intention to earn the exp for this particular medal. So I took all of the exp that I had bought out of the sign and put it into another sign. I went back to mining until I reached 500k exp. So I can truthfully say that I earned every bit of exp in this sign.
