Minecraft Username: Rip_Peep_2017 Others Involved: @Magicware @probablydead @pikalovr (Pika is the first one to tell me about the bug) Brief Description: When sending EvoVotes using /vote givepoints if you dont type out the exact username you are sending to it will go to a non existing person and the votes will be gone. For example my username is Rip_Peep_2017 if they just do /vote give points Rip_Peep 6 those 6 votes will go to the username Rip_Peep and not Rip_Peep_2017. I Have lost 36 Votes in total that i was going to purchase from players due to this, Is there anyway we can get those votes reimbursed. Instructions: When sending ecovotes only enter partial of the username you are trying to send to. How many times did you recreate this?: 3 Result: EcoVotes go to a username that has never played on the server and are lost forever. You can use all other commands related with players usernames with just partial of their name, So people are going to assume you can do the same with the voting system and loose points because of it.
In the real world, if you don’t type your name in correctly or just put your first name on something, then it’s the user’s fault and they are not usually reimbursed. And shortcuts wouldn’t work here. Before I gave my second account to my brother, it was named Jdawger5. If I sent it to that account and just used Jdawger (or Jdawg) as a shortcut, then it should 100% go to the user who’s name is exact. It wouldn’t be fair if the Jdawger5 account had the shortcut of Jdawger if there could be an account with Jdawg or Jdawger.
Im talking about giving points to other players in game with the /vote givepoints command not anything about the voting sites themselves.
Yeah, you responded before I edited it. I misread the intentions and forgot the vote points existed for a second. Edited it minutes after I responded.
We have had the point giving system redesigned. You can now use partial names, as long as the user is offline. /vote givepoints rip_peep_2017 10 /vote givepoints rip_peep 10 /vote givepoints peep 10 Will all work now. I have regenerated these for you, they are now in your account.
