Dear Staff: Is it possible for this feature to be configured to consistently spawn the tombstone? It fails very often. James4747
The latest failure was when I died from a fall in the mining world. I landed on a slope, with a 1 block high ridge immediately next to me, and the ground beneath me extending 2 blocks out from the ridge before dropping again. I will test this thoroughly when I come home tonight and post my results.
Ok here's what I think is going on: The tombstone will not spawn when dying from a fall if any of the following are true: - the downward velocity of the player on impact is greater than or equal to that of a fall from a 20-block height. - the landing point is centered above an air block (the edge of an adjacent block kills the player) *must be an air block. the tombstone can spawn on top of snow, torches, grass.. And obviously it will not spawn in protected areas. Perhaps each tombstone owner could be assigned a slot in a protected area for his or her tombstone to spawn or an existing tombstone to be filled? I understand that this could negate much of the need for /back and replace it with tombstone, but this is just my first idea.
