Hey there, i had an idea. Seeing as empty towns are the big discussion lately, lets do this. I suggest that we (andrew) makes an application for the situation i am currently in. Imagine that there is a town, you helped build most of it (including the 200x200 in my case) but ALL of the owners quit, and you are a member.i think there should be an application to become a co-owner (really just an owner if you're mayor+) that requires the owners to havebeen banned OR offline for atleast two week, and for you to be a member The reason i am bringing this up is becaise i helped build sparkwood the town, it has a 200x200 underground which i supplied seeds and planted a lot of,plus a hotel which the owners built the outside and i did the interior design, which i can no longer rent out to people. Unfortunately, in my case one of the owners (dieselrabbit) got on for a Day then quit again recently, meaning i would have to wait quite some time. In any case, this app is designed to help counter towns emptying. Thanks for reading that giant mess Also, poll added

Hey Rabid, I agree, there are a bunch of towns out there with owners who are just completely quit or gone, and some are not so great, but other towns are really awesome and just have nothing going on anymore. It would be nice to have a time limit in which owners can be impeached by the most active townmembers, and or an app that you can post.. Maybe give it like a 25k Fee or something, so not just anyone can claim a town. Or maybe 45k. Then they can fill out the appropriate app and upon investigation and what not they can be declared owner of the town and be on their merry way.. Cheers!
This would be cool. Then I could have an adopt-a-town thread for orphaned towns. I would definitely take the reins of an inactive town. This app should be res+ because the builders cannot be added as mayors. I wonder what Andrew or a supermod would think of this. It would be nice because like you said, empty towns seem to be the talk right now.
I don't like this cause, if I go off on a 3-4 week holiday, then come back to find I dont own my town any more after all the work I did on it. It would really suck. It should be made so you can only claim towns which has the mayor/s banned.
Only would work if applied only to banned owners. If I quit it's still my town and I do not want anyone taking control of them. I may come back one day.
I take long hiatuses from minecraft pretty frequently due to work and health problems and would be very unhappy to come back to ecc and find i dont have a town. Only way i support this would be if it was for perm. banned user only.
As always, andrew could change to permbanned only, or simply raise the limit to a month, but in either case you dont lose the town, you just get a co owner: And, if you dont want someone you dont trust to become a co owner, than make someone you trust a co owner so the app is void. Easy as that
How about this. Town Adoptions Apps. Owners of towns that are banned or leaving ECC can post that they want their town(s) to either be adopted by a resdident + (or rank of their choice), be left to someone (like a will), or be auctioned off on the forums. That way, all towns can be used and there wont be any more complaints!
unfortunately, this does not solve the problem for current towns nor towns where the owners rage quit and/or for some reason are completely unable to play again period. people may get off without ever getting back on, and no one that is quiting is going to fill out an application for something they wont get :C
So tempted to mention andrekm... xD but i wont yet. Just out fo curiosity, did the reminder that having a co owner would prevent this from happening change anyones opinions? If you know your going to be gone for an extended period of time, simply get a freind of yours (or even convince a moderator) to be added as a co-owner. They dont need to do anything but log on, and your towwn will be saved, so supermods are your best bet. And actually, to be honest,you could technically add anyone (including supermods) without telling them and it would save your town for you. Ofcourse, supermods might be able to see all /commands including /region but im not sure. Anyways, anyone get their mind changed?
