I will be hosting a 16 player bracketed elimination Chess Tournament. The matches will be played at the player's conveniences. Please understand that a match on this board takes an average of 30-60 minutes. No special tools, features, or items are required to play. The base entry fee is 5k and 100% of that fee goes to the prize pot for the winners. Players are welcome to provide more than the 5k if they wish to increase the prizes for the winners. I am also matching each base entry fee, doubling the minimum prize pool to 160k! - 1st place will get 100k* - 2nd place will get 50k* - 3rd place will get 10k* (* - These amounts may increase if players provide more than the base 5k, and will be updated accordingly) Rules: Castling, En passant, and Promotions are allowed (click the link for more info on those moves). A stalemate will occur if both players repeat the same moves 3 times in a row, requiring the players to play a new game. Unlike speed chess, players do need to call check and checkmate. If there is reasonable belief that you are using a computer aide to determine your moves, you will be removed from the tournament and forfeit your entry fee. If you wish to play, please post the time window you are available for matches (with timezone, even if listed in EST [visible in-game via the tab screen]) so your matches can be coordinated. Playing on this board is surprisingly intuitive. It doesn't take long to stop seeing it as minecraft and start seeing it as just any other chess board. I'd be interested. Off peak player during the week (midnight to 4 AM eastern) Can make time on the weekends if needed. Im a beginner to intermediate level player so feel free to kick me if higher level matches are desired.
Is this still gonna happen? Maybe a smaller bracket tournament would be warrented since there appears to be limited interest.
I still wish to continue with this tournament, but due to my personal health situation and my family's health situation, I won't be able to confirm any new entries to the tournament for a few weeks. This does NOT mean that you can't still post here to say you wish to join. It just means it'll be a while before I can collect your entry fees and confirm your entry to the tournament.
