Idk, this seems a little extreme.

 

How exactly is it going to make ECC a better place?

 

uh.. how would you accomplish that? Last I checked people get plenty of chances and plenty of time. I don't see any reason to change it.

A - We have freedom of speech - within the rules of the server - I personally do not want unlimited trolling allowed.

1 - The current staff system has proven itself perfectly fine and when there are issues, they are resolved by the server owner ultimately.

C - No free insurance is needed - be careful with transactions you conduct with other players (do research and have contracts) and just consider it a loss if they are banned and do not appeal (very rare as almost everyone decides to come back). As for grief, this is not necessary since if it is over $7500 the server will rollback and if it is less than that - spend an hour working instead of chatting and earn the money to make the repairs.

7 - Our current system of complaints and bans seems to work as well as can be expected - I would love to see some examples of innocent players getting banned having done nothing at all.

Z - I prefer to leave our future of ECC in the hands it is currently in since those fingers that furiously strive to provide us an awesome gaming experience have kept an economy server (unique) running for many years successfully and I believe will keep it running for many more (despite some ups and downs which are always expected in life)

 

Seems this was perfectly handled in the best way possible - mistakes do happen and staff have been known to actually make one or two .
I really don't think the 30 minute ban ruined your whole gaming experience.

 

I agree with Admiral on this one, this really wouldn't work.

 

I think the way mods run is fine. And the only dictatorship in ECC is for Server Owners as far as I know...and the parties thing might be nice- but it would create grudges between player's beliefs if we are not careful..

 

As many others would like to say.. This is an incredibly dumb thread.

 

It would also add unnecessary steps to the process. Inconveniencing everyone in the process just to prevent a single mistake from happening doesn't sound like a good idea.

 

This in my opinion this would be pointless. And just like any government everywhere there is corruption, no way is perfect but ecc has been here a lot longer then some servers and we are doing fine for ourselves.

 

I actually do not think this is exactly true. Even if we had your court system, if someone is breaking - or even thought to be breaking - the rules, they would still have to be banned immediately.
I may be misunderstanding exactly how your system would work - are you saying that if someone (really or possibly mistaken) is advertising or breaking any other rules - they would just be able to keep breaking the rules until the court convenes and determines if they should be banned or not?

 

We don't have a government and this is not a country. This is a minecraft server with a staff team that enforces the rules. We have police and those who keep the server in check as well as an owner, not a dictatorship. The owner chooses members as staff who keep the community together, however they do not have the power to do how they please.
