1. Lava I died in w/ tombstone in mining world, typed /tomblist, nothing... 2. Ev 1 got mad at me. 3. My lifes over xD This was zrs pick, and i lost a eff 7 by this. I died in lava, and my tombstone didnt appear!
I'm so sorry this happened to you man, however I'm 99% certain that tombstones do not appear if you die in lava...
Where in the word 'Tombstone' make it a sure thing that it saves your stuff from lava? It saves your suff from: Being Killed by Mobs Falling Being Killed by Players Set on Fire on Ground Suffocation?
Doesnt say anywhere in there your items will be safe and sound from any type of death and for how long either
You are presuming things though...thats all im saying, Unfortunately, if you look at the mechanics of Tombstone, the tombstone is placed on a full block that you die on if i'm correct. Being Lava isn't a full block, either 1. the tombstone was placed on the first full block in line with the lava, or 2. It wont be placed. I assume this could also be said with Water? 3. It could also be on the bottom block in the lava if it doesn't recognise the lava. The wording on the shop isn't the best, i agree, just stating whats the truth though.
I know but i thought this would be safe if i die in lava! Whats the point really! This is why i got this feature, to be safe from dieing not to be in debt from dying!
As far as I know, isn't the tombstone feature known for its many bugs? I guess the main problem of the plugin is that it actually places a chest...so region perms and a lack of space can be a problem, in this case the second one.
My understanding of Tombstone is that it keeps your items when you die. I think its rediculous that such a feature is still on the ECC store when all it has ever done is cause problems and barely ever work. It should be removed.
I COMPLETELY agree with you. Now NR owes me an eff 7 and I feel kinda bad because it was caused by some bug. In the store, it should be stated that tombstone doesn't work in lava.
The ECC Shop doesn't say anything specific about any kind of death. So, would I be "presuming things" if I made a bug report claiming tombstone didn't work upon dying from fall damage or a similar death? I don't think so. If I read this and purchased the feature afterwards I'd feel pretty confident that I wouldn't lose my items after any kind of death (especially considering that if you're spending 20USD on a feature of this nature, one would think "when you die" definitely includes one of the most common and feared deaths in Minecraft). People are presuming nothing, they are making a very valid point based on the actual official description that most likely led them to purchase the feature in the first place. "Ambiguity in a contract favors the party that did not draft it." Even though it's not exactly a contract, I would say this should apply to this situation considering it's part of a Sale agreement. Unless it explicitly said that the feature doesn't generate a tombstone upon death by lava, then MiniMeNr2502 was not wrong at all to believe that he would get his items back upon that kind of death, so I think that should be added to the description if that's the way it's supposed to work; like Teleport, for example, that doesn't list the Nether as a world where the feature is available. Also, the mechanics are irrelevant. People are not aware of this and they don't need to be, they are simply supposed to follow and trust the instructions the page provides; just like people don't need to check the code lines for a command like /repair after purchasing ExtCommands to know that it works, the description doesn't explain anywhere the functioning of the tombstone in technical or overly-specific terms.
