In single player mod, I came across a cool trick using RedStone. After messing around with it, and watching some simple tutorials, I managed to successfully build a workable combination lock, much like the one in the home of Andrewkm. My real topic is: using this lock, would you rent/ use cells built beyond the lock and door, do store valuables and Xp? I know several people already build these in their home, but would it benefit you, to have a massive bank and vault to store it all. It will be located in Zoolouie's Skytown (+resident) so the ordinary person wouldn't be able to break in. Every vault you wish to use, will be locked by you, so no one can get your stuff. So, is this a good idea, bad idea? What would you like/ not like about it, and more importantly, would you use it (it's free!)?
I would use it, but There is a much simpler option, locking iron doors, because then you can right-click on the iron door and it will open for you and only you and it wont even do the half-second open that wood doors do, preventing tp+ fraud. it is nice on a server without LWC but it is overly complicated for ECC when there is a much simpler solution. TL;DR: Just lock an iron door it will work just as well, But YES I would use this.
With knowledge on how to build a combo lock, you can easily figure it out by looking through the windows I have tried, by you need two people, and everyone I have asked to help is afraid of being banned for cheating... LOL
They could, however, that is griefing... Plus, I'm going to place locked furnaces as the floor and ceiling so if they do break in, they wont be able to replace the blocks, and there for become banned. Even if they do, they wont be able to do much, as each user will lock their own chests, and their signs will be surrounded by locked furnaces.
