ECC Spring Spleef Tourney Info

When, Where, & How:
Tourney 1: Saturday, May 11th at 12 PM EDT
Tourney 2: Sunday, May 12th at 5 PM EDT
Both tourneys will happen at /warp spleef in-game!

These tourneys will be Swiss tournament style like previous sign-up spleef competitions. Every player who signs up will play a guaranteed 4 rounds. Finals will be decided by wins earned in the first 4 rounds, with the top 8 scoring players competing in elimination rounds for the top prizes.

Scoring:

Each match will end either when one of the players falls, or the match reaches a point at which it can't continue. If a player falls, the opposing player wins the match. If the match reaches an impasse, the player with access to the most blocks wins the match. These wins are used to determine the top 8 finalists.

Match winners will also receive points for the amount of blocks left over in the arena after their match is completed. Players will earn 1 point for every 25 blocks remaining, up to 35 points per match. A player will only receive 9 of these points in the event they are matched with a bye.

Prizes:

Prizes for 1st through 4th finalists:
1st Place: Events winners raffle entry, 50 events raffle tickets, & a 1/1 lored trophy item, featuring your username!
2nd Place: 40 events raffle tickets & a 1/1 lored trophy item, featuring your username!
3rd Place: 30 events raffle tickets & a 1/1 lored trophy item, featuring your username!
4th Place: 25 events raffle tickets

Prizes for all participants:
Players will win $2,500 ECD for each point they earn, as well as 10 ECC Quarterly Events Raffle Tickets for each win.

Rules:

• All participants are expected to exercise common sense, and not troll and/or otherwise impede tourney progression.
• Good sportsmanship is required. Poor sportsmanship, toxicity, or otherwise disruptive behavior may result in disqualification or further action, depending on the circumstance.
• Please try to bring your own efficiency 5, silk touch shovel. If you don't have one, owned ones will be provided, and must be returned at the end of each match.
• Failure to show for your match will result in a bye and you may be removed from the bracket lineup. It is possible to be re-added if you show up late, but there is no guarantee.

Sign-Up:​

Signing up beforehand is a requirement because this is a bracketed tourney. Sign-ups will be taken up to a half hour before each tourney begins.

Unfortunately something has come up last minute and I will no longer be able to run the tourney today, the 11th. The tourney on the 12th will still be proceeding as planned. I'm super duper sorry for the one today falling through, I'll see y'all on the 12th though ❤️

 

I seriously hate that this happened twice in a row, but I'm very likely not going to be able to make the spleef tourney today either. The weather here is absolutely *dreadful* and my internet is totally knocked out, and has been for a while and it's not really letting up any. I'm so, *so* sorry to everyone who was excited for spleef, and I promise I'll set up another one soon and hope against more divine intervention.
