Hello everybody! I am finally starting a new town, and have realized that of course there is still plenty of ores left in ECC, but not enough space for towns. Especially these days when people are getting mayor so fast. Most people are already having to build over water, and in my mind they should not have to do that. Now of course this raises the issue of LAG, and I have no idea of a solution to lag if there was a expansion. So, suggestions on lag solutions for expansion of ECC main world? My solutions t0 the problem of too many towns are: 1. Raise Town prices 2. expand ECC border. 3. Create another main world. NOT REPLACE THE OLD ONE, just add a new one Thanks, RealNick123
I think we all would love to see a map expansion! Andrew has even hinted at it happening a few times. The problems of course are if the server can handle it with lag issues and what not, and if Andrew wants to expand his map. On the topic of town space; there is still some cool spots open I can see from livemap. Just look around and I am sure you can find some cool spots.
Andrew posted recently (like within a month or something) that only 40% of the map is being used. That is still a lot of empty space and areas that can be used for development. The comment about building on water is just your opinion. I have done plenty of land clearing jobs where players will level whole 200x200 mountains. This, in my opinion, is more painful than building on level ocean.
jwpwns is correct, restarting the main world will cause lots of lag and confinements. I think if you will do this, the towns will as well get taken over. As well the land will need LWC's and this is a Hardcore Server, which means nothing will be spawned in all will be for you to get. Now to expand will need to restart the land, and the LWC's will be removed and Builders live in the wild and if a restart cause's LWC's to be removed and this will cause a big run in the wild and will cause chaos in the cities of ECC, and wild goose chases. If we add another main-world, the server will get very laggy and more chaos will happen with lag.
Another map extension could be good, the last one was roughly 6-7 months ago, so it's been a while. Besides, we need more jungle on ecc, it's the best looking biome and everyone always chops it down.
