ok basicly i want peoples thoughts not flame not hate just ideas and thoughts question is should admin add new plugins while other plugins are broken or should him and his devlopers fix the main issues at hand first rather then add something that can break something already broken even more. the only reason i ask, is i develop php games for a living and well i know full well that as a developer its better to fix things first rather then make a hack fix or band-aid for it sometimes its even better to remove something that has broken sites beyond repair but usally a rules of thumb is you dont go complicating things even more this is just my opinion and well everyone is entitled to theres as i am mine. so please what do you guys think should other things be fixed first, before other plugins and or features be added to server?
ok well thanks for calfication on mobs but things like trade signs that pop off walls randomly little things like that i lost over 15k in signs this way hence why i wont use trade signs any more for big deals too risky but if thats the case forget i even sugested it i can wait till server software is cappable to use hardware thats all i needed to know.
Maybe a list of known issues (at least known to Staff) that everyone could see. That way we can see something is not "the way it is", rather see that it's a (hopefully) temporary problem that is being worked. If a list IS made, I wouldn't let anyone have the ability to comment, just have developers be able to edit it. Also, maybe an estimated fix date? not everything would have an actual date. For instance, "something is not working correctly and we're waiting on Mojang to update to fix it... As for your question....always fix the root cause, don't add MORE variables
I agree with gstoner, a known issues page would be nice. On the other side of the that coin is Andrew would be too busy trying to fix the problems along with the day to day tasks of running ecc to keep the page up to date and accurate. The page should help people from pestering Andrew and mods on known issues. Just throwing that out there.
Andrew is being pretty modest when he says he took a hit for taking away mcmmo in the past, it was more like a shit storm. I see that you are relatively new to the server, at least the forums as it lists your join date as April 8th advocaite but rest assured mcmmo is not a "new" addition. I believe the first time they tried it was late December. It gives a large amount of much needed depth to the game and frankly the way Andrew retooled the experience so that it was actually a challenge to level and compete with other players was something that drew myself and others to play and stay on this server. Alot of people that liked it left with it or lost interest in the game without it on here and I hope some come back or maybe become more active with its return. I understand your logic but due to the sheer number of players on this server compared to many others you have to be patient with things like mobs being disabled in order to enjoy a smooth running server with a lot of players to interact with. I was slow to adjust my thinking on this and uhh it wasn't pretty. Anyway if you do a forum search on mcmmo or look at the suggestions section alone you will find many posts and posters asking for mcmmo and why, its return is a very happy one for most.
