You roll a die (irl if you can). If the number is 1 or 2, you lose a die. If it is 3 or 4, you don't win or lose a die. If it is 5 or 6, you win a die. If the number of possible outcomes is not divisible by 3, try to even it out as much as you can. For example, if I had 2 die, 2-5 is lose, 6-8 is nothing, and 9-12 is win.
