Soooooo, all us mayors have made a floor for our towns. Sometimes on land, and sometimes in the middle of the ocean. Lol, I made mine in the ocean . We mayors all remember doing this and it's very very time consuming. My town, DiamondIsland, is a 200 by 200 block made island in the middle of the ocean. Thats 40,000 grass blocks I used I think. YAWNNNN! This took about 20 hours... Did you do something like this? How big is your town? How long did it take you to make the ground or make it flat? LEAVE A REPLY! Thanks for reading!
Well, the hills didn't take long to level, i had a friend with eff V shovel The real pain is the giant river running through the land. Sponge it. Fill it. I'm not cheaping out on it either. Not gonna cover it over.
Well... I'm a Resident still so don't segregate me first of all . But, I've made my town out in the wild before I actually have gotten Mayor, so there's an epic 200x200 medieval city just chilling unprotected... Anyyyyway! Clearing the land wasn't that bad, but placing the dirt to make it more level was a pain in the behind. I spent like 12 hours straight working on it, though I have no doubt in my mind that it's worth it!
Ive placed 3 towns in all on ocean. 1 I had the help of a friend with, another I did over the course of a few months. (im lazy, ok) and the third I placed in just under 12 hours. It was some work.
Flat towns.. The only flat town I have was back in the day when worldedits were available. As for the other towns, I built one in the water and the other one is going to have a hilly landscape.
Have mine in the ocean. I've had a partner help, we have half done and we haven't worked on it for like 1.5 months lol
My game partner and I do not level towns at all. We build on or in the existing landscape. We prefer extreme hills and have placed them carefully and built and designed them around the natural spawned appearance. So, we spent Zero Time placing the base of our town. Then again, we spent a zillion hours building structures
I planned to clear out JUNGLE HILLS, and after a month of work, i only cleared out a 50X200 area (had no god tools at that time) so i got a world edit. :3
Lol I made 3 connected towns in the ocean and they all only took me about 2 hours each all you have to do is turn fly to /speed 0.4 hahaha 20 hours for placing a floor for a town lol
I'm not sure what world edit prices were, but it seems like you could have bought tools for cheaper then a world edit. Then again, the exp market back then...
the world edit was apprx 35k it was cheaper, but going at the rate i was going (200X50 amonths) it would have taken my 4 months to clear, then to build plots, etc, UGH
Mines not so bad its half ocean and half swamp. I'm still working on it because I got mayor 5 days ago. I have a buddy fly and an auto-something macro for placing dirt. Still lots of work to do.
