Alright, so I am making this thread because there is a thief stealing from towns and players. He is a Tycoon, yet steals from me (a new player) and other new players. I mean like.. who does that? I think it would be blacklisting if I said his name so I am not going to. My problem is, he has stole on multiple occasions, with confirmation with logs of what he stole, he he still doesn't get in trouble. The doors are closed locked, but he uses glitches like /j and spamming a door until glitched in to get into buildings. (He showed us how he did it) Over 4 eye witnesses have seen him do this, yet still no ban. Apparently we need some "physical evidence" to get him in trouble. That makes no sense to me. Logs of stealing on multiple occasions should be enough proof to get a person banned.
How is he stealing? The chests are locked right? Is it your town? Does the mayor know? Does he have perms? When you say "logs", when you do a grief report, isn't he banned? I guess I don;t have enough info.
He goes after all chests, and some we have forgot to lock. It isn't my town, but the mayor does know and seen it. He stole from the mayor too. He has no perms, he is using glitches to get into the houses and buildings. When I say "logs" I mean an investigator and/or mod has come and checked the logs on the chest to confirm all that he has stole.
What kind of report? According to one of the mods, we need "physical evidence" to get him banned. I don't even know what that means. What I can prove is: 1. He stole many things 2. He glitched in buildings using door spamming and /j command. A Mod has been confirmed this, and still no punishment. I suspect that because he is a donator and tycoon, he is being given special treatment.
All unlocked chests are fair game. It is your responsibility to lock them, so if someone takes anything from your unlocked chest, it is legal. Though this may seem "unfair", it is a rule and it can be prevented with the simple command "/cprivate".
Everyone forgets to lock a chest at one point. I guarantee almost every person has a chest in there house that is accidentally unlocked. He glitches into every house in a town and checks every chest until there's one unlocked. I'm sure he's done this to tens if not hundreds of people, and it's gotta stop.
I have over 200 double chests in my storage. Every single one is locked. So your theory is incorrect, that everyone has a chest accidentally unlocked. Also, flying, teleporting, etc is legal for getting chests. Not sure about the door glitching though, get bandicam and take a video and report him on the forums I guess.
Would recommend having all the people affected double check their chests to make sure they're locked. Ive never had my stuff stolen out of chests before because I am careful. Also take screenshots of him glitching and entering into buildings for a complaint.
Put yourselves in other peoples shoes. If you had a chest that you forgot to lock and someone stole all your stuff that took days to get, you wouldn't be defending this guy. Imagine you dropped 100 dollar bill on the ground, and as you went to pick it up, some other guy grabbed it and ran. No wait, imagine you where homeless and the guy who took your money was President Obama. That's essentially what happened.
OF course I wouldn't defend him. But I cant do anything against him because it would be my own personal mistake for not locking the chest. Moral of the story, be more careful.
If the mayor tells him that he isn't welcome in the town, he has to leave and not come back. Take screenshots of this and if he comes back take some more screenshots. Then file a complaint in the Ban Appeals/Complaints Forum. Post a town notice and spread the word about double checking that your chests are locked.
Uh no. If you place a chest, the FIRST thing you should do is lock it. I have hundreds of chests at my home. I have had many people TP'd to it. Not one has gotten anything as all my chests are locked. If you place a chest, lock it. If you place a chest, lock it. If you place a chest, lock it. If you have an unlocked chest then you didn't do one of the 3 things above. Just follow those 3 rules and you won't have an issue. Oh, and: If you place a chest, lock it.
No EPIC_CHICKEN2 you should not say unlocked chests are fair game, I understand that's how you see it but stealing from a resident isn't right even if your not responsible, and as a tycoon you should know this. Show others respect and they will respect you.
You can not prove this, because you got no evidence. Get screenshots or possibly a video of him doing it.
It's not his opinion that matters. That is the rule the server has setup. Staff and admins do not have time dealing with every single case of theft from unlocked chests. Therefore it's one's responsibility to ensure they have locked their chests. Read the rules, it's on the wiki page. As unfortunate as it seems, this may be the best chance to learn the lesson and move on because Andrew will never change the rules on this.
