As the title indicates, I was looking for some opinions on the topic, feel free to post below and vote in the pole.
Both are just as good, I like water for mine as i can simply let it flow while doing something else for 30 seconds and then come back and block it off and its done. But using a Diamond axe is pretty quick if you have a 2 high row of cocao. It personal preference i think. Water for tall thin farms, axe for long short farms?
I would probably water harvest if I had fly, but it's too much of a nuisance to replant with it. I use my pump axe on cocoa beans.
I'm going to sound like a n00b for saying this but can you buy the water perk from someone with ECDs?
Yes you can. Generally, at current rates, it will cost you about 90k. As for the question, I use both; IMO, water is more efficient, but if you don't have the resources/don't want to build a huge farm for water harvest, then use an axe. All personal preference, but I say water. P.S. @jacob03082000, what style of farm do you use? If you are willing to share, forum PM me
Strange..kinda puts things in reality. If using the water perk ratio intel, this means 1 USD is about 6K ECD.. As to the question, ax farming for me bloody gets maybe 6k and hour. But for me, it's my biggest income. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well its like big and it has like bridge signs that like bring down water and their is basically no harvest time at all.
Something that is never really considered is the replant time. You make 21k in an hour, but do you add the time it took to plant all of those and then divide the profits amongst all of that time? Leaving out this key fact would definitely offset some players. Of course, you can always pay people to replant the farm, but I wish that replant costs/time calculations were factored into the money/hr. Due to this lack of information, I haven't truly found how much money you make on average with a cocoa farm, or the max possible cash depending on your method (water/daxe/f3axe). I don't mean to seem nagging, I only seek answers where there are none. Thank you for your time. -Eros_Dynami
My farm uses water. I made around 12k an hour using it before i bought fly, and around 18k an hour now. You can reach 9-10 layers of vertical blocks to plant the beans on. I just made it 2 stack long, 14 stacks high, and put a scaffold at 7 blocks high. Move side to side and plant one row at a time, when you get to the end move up a row and plant again. I setup a big triangle with one dispenser at the top, so all i have to do is push the button and water breaks every bean. If you're going to do large scale, there's no way an axe could be considered better. Even if you have to pay someone to put the dispenser in for you, you'll save that money on repairs within an hour.
