Ugh. I really wish I hadn't of done that. I meant to empty out my filled water bucket so I could try and pick up some lava. Only to vaguely remember, how to do it. I went the wiki to see what it was, I even read "/fill clear", but when i tabbed back over to the game, i typed /clear. :/ I lost all my tools. Granted, non of it was star tools, but nevertheless, effV, F3 picks, axes and chovels are not cheap or easy to come by for me. Is there anyway I could undo that, or possible reset my inventory? I'm super bummed out about this, cause I quit 6 months back cause I was in the mining world when I logged off one day, and I had all my star tools on me. Lost it all on a reset and asking staff to help me out and return my stuff the server took from me, but fail. after that, I decided to stop playing for a half a year. When I decided I could start playing again, I started from scratch. Built myself up, to the point where I was able to create maxed out tools with about 30k exp (crazy expshop!) only to lose it all again because of a stupid word called "fill". WHY doesnt the /clear command have a "are you sure" option!?! That seems stupid dangerous especially to those that are trying to learn newly bought donation features...Almost as dangerous as not warning people you may lose all your items if you log off in the mining world (back before I quit, there were no warnings, it has since been changed).
I'm sorry Jorgy but there is no way to refund your inventory. "/clear" must be used with care and as far as I am aware the server does not do givebacks. Perhaps I could help you out in game if you see me. If I'm online, shoot me a PM! Sorry about that.
Either jamie, KH or kuke answered that once.../clearinventory, /clear and /ci were originally designed to help server admins when they would need to get rid of their inv. An "Are you sure" confirmation would require some custom coding since the default use of them would be to quickly clear the inventory to make space for other items from creative mode. Also, I assume that one reason of this might be to oppose the regular use of /repair which comes in the same feature branch as /clear. Without tools breaking /clear and lava would be some of the bigger ways to take tools out of the economy. Just my guess though.
You are kind. I appreciate your gesture, I would appreciate the help, whatever you can do to help I'd be grateful. I'm going to send a mail to some other staffers, but knowing how things are dealt with around here, I can pretty much assume how its going to turn out for me. Then why give donators the ability to use this useless command? We have [disposal] signs. Those are safe and not potential "rage-quit" actions.
Well, IMO an attempt to even out the /repair-flood by accidental tool destruction instead of disposal done on purpose.
Who would use a [Disposal] sign for a star tool? The star tools that are /repair'ed are mainly destroyed by lava and /clear. Now, if there wasn't clear there would be too many star tools because nobody would put them into disposal signs. But currently, it happens from time to time that somebody /ci's his inventory. This takes star tools out of the economy and thus helps reduce inflation.
Funny enough, we all did. Also, yell at phys, as in the plugin I've sent to her and jakey there is an override for this.
