Clarification on use and interact flags

    In reading the WIKI, I'm under the impression that the Use flag and Interact Flags do two different things in a town. After speaking with a staff member, I was told that only Interact is needed, and it replaces use. Can someone clarify this, and if Interact does in fact replace use, could we get the Wiki cleared up so others don't waste money getting use? If Interact is USE + Mobs, then the wiki should state that more clearly.

    I see it as USE deals with levers/doors/buttons, while interact then adds chests and other storage devices. I'm probably reading it too deeply, but again, it's not clear to me, and I tend to take things literally (comes from years of dealing with Microsoft Whitepapers :happy:.

    You may now toggle various town flags in different ways. Below are the available flags to change/toggle.
    • Use (Default is allow)
      • You may change the ability for users to open doors, press buttons or use levers in your town. Available options are allow or deny. (If this is denied only users part of your town can use these things)
    • Interact (Default is allow)
      • You may change the ability for users to right-click certain blocks. This includes limiting non-members of your town from opening chests, enderchests etc. Available options are allow or deny.
      • This flag when set to 'deny' also prevents anyone who is not an owner or member of the town from harming mobs within your town. It also prevents anyone who is not a owner/member of the town from using a lead on, or riding, mobs. This is useful for protecting horses for example.

    Yeah, the moderator who told you is correct.

    Use just blocks non-residents from interacting with doors, levers, or buttons in your town, while the interact flag blocks non-residents from using EVERYTHING you can possibly interact with on MC - It isn't just limited to what the use flag can block and mobs - The use flag doesn't block players from accessing chests, interact does - and I can go on.

    Then my opinion is that the WIKI needs some clarification around this, as USE calls out certain things, while INTERACT calls out other things, and for me at least, the language is vague. Not a big deal, but I've wasted 20K on USE Flags while also getting INTERACT flags, and I'm sure others will too. Frankly, I'm not even sure why USE Is still an option if INTERACT replaces it.... Thanks for the additional clarifications @UnitedStates2

    @Nicit6, Would it be possible to change the WIKI to state something like:
    USE = Levers, Doors, buttons, ......
    INTERACT = The same as USE, but adds additional interactions such as Chests, Enderchests, ......

    It could be. I'll need to go through and test everything again before making any changes, though.
