Minecraft Name: Revanrose6 Suggestion: ReAdd the chat channel option that allowed you to moderate your own private channel. Reason: We used to have the ability to moderate our own channels. I found this while searching old apps. I think this would solve a lot of problems with chat channel changes. Recently, America had to change their password 3 times due to people who weren't suppose to be there coming into the channel. I feel adding a /ch America Ban command and a /ch kick America command to the owners of channels would allow people to moderate their own channels and thus reduce the amount of work that Andrew has to do. Any Other Information: Example of an old app where this happened: http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/town-chat-channel-app-prussia.3065/
This is a very good idea. The only thing I could see if too many people have the ability to do this. I think as an option, there should be a "/ch mod America David_Torento" to give trusted users the ability to mod the chat as well.
Technically it would be part of the original app. This would reduce channel option change apps. There would be significantly less people needing to change passwords at that point. Further, we could add an additional cost for it, and thus remove more money from the economy.
Correct and for anyone who's applied previously we would have to file an option add thing if we wanted that ability. Sort of like when you apply for a portal. You can make it 5x5 and pay 10k for it when you first file the app. Or you can do a portal resize app afterwards.
It used to be that the channel owner was added as a moderator every time, with the option for the owner to choose more people to be added to the list. For example, I used to own /ch helpme and I had the entire staff team added as moderators in case they were ever in the channel.
Give me the money necessary for it and /ch helpme will return! But on topic, I think that if this suggestion is readded, the ability for the channel owner to add/remove moderators themself should not be given for two reasons. 1. It takes money out the economy whenever andrew has to type the two or three lines to do it, so it's not a ton of extra work for him and 2. I can imagine people would mess something up and it would just be easier to have only one person doing the adding/removing as opposed to every channel owner doing it.
Back to the topic of adding the owner of the channel as a moderator of the channel. Any one else have thoughts? I think kukelekuuk00 may know more about why it was removed but I could be wrong about that.
I think this would be a great feature to add/reinstate. I would purchase a chat channel, but I have been worried about it spiralling our of control into a spam-fest... and if I only add people I trust 100%, well, might as well use a skype convo then...
If I am correct the reason that it was removed is that now you actually need to go into the config the the plugin and edit/add in the channels, owners/mods of the channels, passwords, colors etc. This may not be the correct reason however it may also be the reason.
Not any more with Herochat 3, its almost all command based, meaning any GA could do it. Problem is, its a little buggy and can screw up the config if you edit it by hand.
(Bump) Good idea it would be alot n9cer than wztching this guy spam and spam and spam until A. A good.mod fixes it or B. He is banned via complaont i agree def +1
