Well, I'm completely tired of my computer. It is super slow! I want to buy another one. Probably for my birthday. But, I don't have much knowledge with all of the hardware that I would need. I don't want to spend a lot of money. I want it to last me at least 5 years. Questions What computer brand do you recommend? What is more important for running Minecraft, the processor or the graphics card? How much RAM do you recommend? What processor do you recommend? Any other important imformation?
The thing is you Can`t add anything (easily) to a laptop... :/ Laptops are more business and work instead of gaming, if you want a gaming laptop and are planning to shell out a ton of money get an Alienware laptop which i`ve heard are quite nice for gaming. ALSO I recommend... 4 Gigs ram at least Processor is more important to MC from what i`ve heard. Get I7 extreme edition xD very expensive Just get a desktop and custombuild it if you want it to be good <_<
True. I had one, it broke after a few months, and their customer support line isn't great. The computers aren't too bad, but they are completely overpriced. In my opinion, please don't buy an alienware.
Acer or Toshiba are good computers. For the RAM I recommend 500GB, 4GB memory, I have a Dell Inspiron and Minecraft works well on it, except in the spawn shop area. I lag sooo much there.
I am currently running an acer aspire v3. It is very cheap, and runs well. http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-V3-57 ... rds=GT630M
Toshiba is cheap and has a great customer support, I can't say the same about other brands. And Toshiba doesn't suck as long as you don't throw it out of the window. (I use a Toshiba myself)
I see a lot of HP, Acer, and Toshiba nowadays.. Not sure if that is a good sign or a bad sign. Personally, I've used HP desktops and laptops for several years, and they just work. Wouldn't say they are special, but they work. When I was looking into new laptops, I ended up with a comparison of two HPs and and Acer... I liked other Acers I saw, but they were/are out of my budget, lol. When it comes to Minecraft, you don't need much for fancy stuff...unless you want to gloat with high fps. If the only game you plan to really play is Minecraft, I would look into a better processor and not a graphics/video card. o-o Would be better for general use, 'cause things like browsers and MS Word do not need fancy graphical power, lol. ..not that I am a noob with computers when it comes to hardware and stuff. I can navigate and use them, just not... build...them. >_>
Alienware are amazing computers based on specs I agree their customer support is horrible but i am building a custom desktop
-I would recommend: Apple , Sony, HP, Toshiba, and NO DELL! Dell customer support stinks! -For MC, worry more about processor, unless you plan to run like a 512x512 texture pack, then graphics might be minimally important -I have 8 gigs of ram, which is quite nice, but I'd say 4 GB minimum. -I have a 2.3 GHz intel processor, which is not bad, however, I'd recommend one of the new fancy i5 or i7 ones -For other info, I would say a 500 GB or more hard drive, unless you're going with solid-state. It's better to have too much space than not enough. Also, this is slightly off of the topic here, but don't use IE9 or any Internet Explorer for your browser. I recommend Firefox, it's one of the safest, easiest to use out there! Google Chrome is ok, but it can be a little weird at times for me (not on my Mac, I tried it on Win 7 and compared it to Firefox). Also, avoid Windows 7 if you want speed, cause trust me, any computer runs slower with it versus Windows XP, which was like the best Windows OS in my opinion
I might get a Dell Desktop because I can add on things and they don't get as hot. I was thinking a Dell XPS 8500.
