Now, actually read this, not just the title. xP Very small suggestion, and not even sure if it is possible. Worth a shot, though. D:

Could there be a "Bump" button? Every 24 or 48 hours we (the thread creator) can bump our thread by clicking a "Bump" button. It would be timed, so it isn't a time rule, it is simply set that way. Would disappear, become unclickable, etc. until we can use it again.

To further prevent abuse (if possible to do), it could be set so that a thread that has been in-active post- and/or bump-wise for more than two or so weeks cannot be bumped at all. Meaning no random necroposting simply with the Bump button, which would obviously cause confusion. It could also be limited to certain subforums, if you want even less abuse. (I'd be perfectly happy if I could have it in town + nation subforums, and maybe General.)

Reason I am suggesting this is because it would be nice if I could Bump important threads in my subforum, or a thread elsewhere that I'd like people to look at (petition, question, help thread, etc). Without posting many, many times. :/ When people post "bump," or pointless posts for a bump, people get upset and the thread becomes cluttered. I'd like my informational threads in my subforum to be seen as "new" again, without adding useless posts, for example.

Personally, I think too much spam would arouse from this - No topic with highest popularity will be heard. Threads with highest popularity are "automatically bumped" because other users reply to it to give feedback. Threads that aren't worth noticing are not replied to - Hence, not "bumped."

    But Sios, think about this,
We could do this differently. We could do this so that if a thread doesn't have a post in two weeks, without just the normal bump button being counted, it can't be bumped. Or even, if it was posted over a month ago, it can't be bumped. If the no bumping two-week old threads happened, and people haven't posted in two weeks, then you can't bump it, and no "spam" could happen with those threads. And with the no bumping one month old threads, then people can't bump a thread by just posting a pointless post, then bumping it constantly again. I'm assuming all this is possible.
Sure, maybe a little more "spam," but it's easily limited.

As well, I can see the town/nation subforums being a problem with that setup, but things could be tweaked/changed for each section. (Of course, bumping would be disabled for sections like Staff applications because of this custom setup for each section.)

Not entirely true, as are the informational town threads. Mayors and Presidents don't want those threads to be spammed up by people, so they ask for no one to post. They want to be able to add more posts themselves if need be, that are more than likely on the first page and quickly noticeable compared to being on a second, fifth, or even twentieth page.

edit: However, sometimes information is added to an existing post, so they may need to bump it without posting again. That is what I'd really like a bump button for.
